How in hell am I supposed to take that person seriously when their name makes them sound like they didn't complete the 6th grade? You really did your kid a disservice. Nice parenting fail.
Damn, you're right - she hasn't completed 6th grade yet. But she's doing okay, thanks for your concern.

My moms name is spelled wrong and i'm almost positive it's because my grandmother didnt know the proper spelling. When i see odd spelled names it makes me think the parents are trying too hard to be different or are uneducated.
Agree with your first line and it is probably an obvious point. It isn't like you can pick a name that "fits" the personality of a person when they are a new born. The only thing I would say about your last line is that it doesn't mean someone is trying "too hard". Obviously there was a desire to be different in those cases, but it doesn't mean you're trying to make some grand statement about bucking the system.

Pronounced the same as "Aaron", just lost an "A" in the spelling. Elvis Presley's middle name was "Aron", which is where my mom got the idea (choosing the name, itself, had nothing to do with Elvis).
