Fish....as I've said I like Gov.Perry and if I was a Republican I would vote for him...but this is not the kind of response to an event invite and news you want coming out when you are getting ready to launch a Presidential bid:

August 03, 2011

Perry's Response
Earlier this year, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) called on Christians across the country to come to Houston for a prayer event to rescue a "nation in crisis."

However, CNN reports that organizers of the religious gathering, called "The Response," say only 8,000 people have registered on-line to attend this weekend's event at Houston's Reliant Stadium, a venue with a seating capacity of 71,000

For me it was not so much he lost my favor but I think he is learning more about Washington which is good and bad thing.

Could he be a good pick for VP.. ????? and the future Presidential Canidate????

Buchman / West
Perry / West
Romney / West

He rode on the back of Tea Party support to get elected and then decided he'd be a compromiser. Unfortunately, DC creates unholy alliances after these dupes drink the "can't we all just get along" Kool Aid. I'll cut him a little slack as he's generally been in favor of fiscal sanity, but he doesn't get to become another Allen Specter and change votes depending on the tide and phase of the moon.

To be fair to Maher....there was a poll released yesterday that had something like 56% of Americans wouldn't vote for a Mormon

I will say this...while the numbers look good for Republicans right now....there is one main reason they WILL NOT win the WH

That would be in-fighting my friends.

Look at how Bachman and Pawlenty are already tearing each other apart.

Look at how they are all attacking Romney

I break each party down into three groups:

Moderates
Steadfast
Far-Right/Left

There are certain candidates in the Republican field that "belong" to each group. For Example:

Huntsman:Moderates
Romney:Steadfast
Bachman/Pawlenty/Perry Far Right

Lets say for example that Mitt Romney wins the nomination. If the Moderates and Far Rights feel he was unfair and "mean" to their candidate(s),they simple won't vote for him. Same goes for Bachman/Perry/Pawlenty/Huntsman.

I truly think that the in-fighting will lead to a splinter the Republican Party and will most likely be the biggest reason that costs them the White House. Because IMO,there isn't a uniter in the Republican Party like President Obama was for Democrats in 2008

Lot of desperate hoping there, Ty. At present pace, America would gladly elect a retarded poodle then give the great clueless one 4 more years.

The elction reallyncomes down to will Obama have enough money to fool and seduce voters again, particularly will he have enough to entice people who have changed their mind on him to change it back? I don't think 1B will be nearly enough. America seems poised to choose anyone else with a pulse over Obama.

They seem poised?

Why is he leading in almost every single poll released?

You mean almost every poll with him well under 50%? And what do incumbents who got re-elected usually run in these polls?

You're not understanding how people view these polls - you support only your candidate, so you're not choosing Romney over Obama or an unnamed candidate over Obama so as not to hurt Romney's chances of being nominated as these polls have some influence, but in fact when you go to the booth you will. Less than 50% in almost all of the polls, which points solidly to America choosing, literally, a brain-dead donkey over more hope and change. You're dreaming if you think Romney backers are going to cast a vote for Obama for whatever crazy reasons if Romney doesn't get nominated. Those people will be voting AGAINST Obama probably better than 9 out of 10, which is why Obama's getting less than 50% in these polls as an incumbent is telling.

There's another way to look at these polls removing that bias - "Will you vote for Obama?" What is it, 43-47% say they will? That's a loser right now, and the question is over time will more or less people be willing to double down on a loser?
