I hope something ridiculous happens and the only way to stay alive is by using an electric current. Then we'll see the true nature of those fucks.

You are so ignorant, i cannot even waste anymore time explaining the brilliance that goes into planning their homes. When storms knock out YOUR power, heat...etc.... they are sittin around with heat, lights enjoying life as nothing happen. The use of natural gas, propane and actually working gardens and farms keep their simple lifestyles much happier than your pathetic saddened state of life.

WOW!!! Boss, you have some really serious hate in you to wish death on these people. They didn't attack the US like other countries have. But to wish death on a buggy accident (usually with children) is something I can't understand. Have the Amish attacked you or your family? Or are you upset because you had an arguement with a couple of them?

I'm starting to think Archie Bunker here! Also we could see the true nature of you if you if your hypothisis (sp) was reversed.

Your not an idiot. The only thing that I don't agree with your posts is the fact that your blame is perspective to all the Amish instead of individual Amish people. You do have a very credible complaint about some of them, but you can't blame all of them.

I never said "all" I said it in generalities. In general, the horses they have dealt with are underfed and lame. In general, the horses I have seen when up there are underfed and lame. They go and buy cheap broken down standardbreds from the auctions and run them to death. It is what it is

There are some that raise their own, but you are correct that the common Amish horse is an auction horse.

many go to auctions and purchase race horses that are no longer competitive. I have taken and seen many at Delaware fairgrounds....some paying in the upwards uo 20-25k....so there are two ennds of the spectrum. Also the belgiums they use for "workhorses" are coveted and sold nationwide. Must be feeding them ok....
I will agree that some families or "orders" do mistreat their animals..

this whole thread has been quite a hilarious read. a few of you know what you're talking about but the others are making pure stereotypes and generalizations about the amish that are totally untrue. is every amish person perfect and courteous? heck no, they are human just like the rest of us and to wish death to them is seriously pathetic and juvenile. sure amish have their problems but so does everyone else and unless you live with and around them daily you really don't know what you're talking about.

cant help but lol at sq's opinion of amish.

as for myself, i live literally a mile from the closest amish family around me. They live all around my area. Heck, my closest neighbor is even ex-amish. From my encounters with working with them, or them working for my family (like putting on a roof), or using them for business (shoeing my horses)....the majority I've come across are really nice people. They'll even randomly wave at you if you are driving past their house.

With that said, I dont really care for them, mainly because of the horse and buggy. There are a lot of twist and turny roads, not to mention hills around my area. Makes it pretty dangerous if you are coming around a turn, see an amish buggy and have to slam on your breaks...not to mention if it is at night and they either have a little reflector on the back or a lantern where its almost impossible to see the light from it.

I dunno, my friends who work with them complain about them a lot so I hear it all the time. Nothing like sqs hatred tho. The best was a friend of mine listening to an amish guy about whether or not the ground was dry enough to drive on. Just a tip, dont listen to ppl who dont drive lol

What counties or general area do your vet friends work?

The reason I'm asking is that it could be an area with a low order Amish that fit the bill of your argument.

Holmes, Knox, Wayne, Coshocton and Tuscarawas

The one that deals almost exclusively with Amish is Holmes county. He actually just put in his 2 weeks and took a job in Preble county to get away from working with Amish people.
