But he should have been out of the inning. That missed strike 3 call was total shit.

How do you not ring Garret Jones up on that?

Still doesn't matter I guess. We don't deserve to win if we can't hit freakin' McDonald.

If Pittsburgh holds on to win this game, I would like to thank Dusty Baker for deciding to pinch-hit for Cueto...and using Gomes and his .180 average with two outs and a runner in scoring position. Not surprisingly, the score is still 3-1.

I love Gomes to death, but the dude is flat out awful right now. He's gotta get it together right now or just GTFO and give way to some other guys.

We're about to go 1-5 vs the Pirates on the year. I don't care what we just did on this homestand, that's epically shitty.

We've played down to our competition all season long.

He's really entered the Nate McLouth zone of guys who completely fell off the earth. Three years ago, McLouth was well over .300 for the first half of the season and slowed down to finish in the .270-80 range. Two years ago, both before and after the trade to Atlanta, he basically hovered around .260. Last year, he was under .200. He's batting .250 now, but I doubt 3/11 are the production numbers Atlanta really expected.

Last year, Gomes was unbelievable for a while and then cooled off to finish around .260-70. Now he's struggling under .200.

Oh, and Ryan Doumit made it 4-1 with a solo jack. Bitchin'!

You'd think after getting their asses handed to them the previous series at home vs Pit that they'd be up enough to at least win one out of two this time around.

You'd think. But their plate approach has proved otherwise.

Arredondo better come in and throw strikes. Or this game will be getting ugly.

With 82 pitches through 5, I'm guessing McDonald won't be going more than 6 unless he is VERY efficient this inning. That will potentially make things hairy. Meek is still on his rehab assignment, I think, and Resop has recently been very shaky as a set-up man.

I'm not sure it'll matter today

I think we got lazy playing the cards and cubs, where just about every ground ball turned into an error.

If you're gonna try for 2 you gotta be all hustle from out of the box. He slowed down before first then took off again. Then Bruce singles. Ugh.

Ugh

He will DH but that's still bad, he will strike out at least 7 times.
