periodically, when another baseball legend passes, baseball fans hearken back to the golden age of the game and wonder..."who is the reigning greatest living ballplayer?..."...and the honor is passed on to the next HOFer...

Yeah, whatever, that's why etc. is at the bottom of the list. There is no 1, 2, 3--just names off the top of my head. I'm sure I left many good names out. You got one of them.

Pitchers: Thats a whole other list, and you have to really take a look at the eras and parks the older guys played in. Clemens or Nolan Ryan would probably top my list (though I admit, Im not 100% sure who is still alive from the older days).

My vote goes to Willie Mays, but my biased vote wants to at least add Tom Seaver into the discussion.
