Yeah, old news, this rumor has been out there for some time. The difference is because it's not about Reggie Bush's NCCA infractions and Weis is making these accusations, haters like yourself latch on to it like a dog to bone.SQ_Crazies wrote: Old news?! LOL

To me it looked like you were saying,"Yea it is" and THEN made a joke about it after saying that. If I misinterpreted that.....my apologies.
My point still stands though (your statement aside)......much of the country is captivated by the "Tiger Woods cheating on his wife" shit. Whether it's right or not....that's how it goes when you're in the public eye. Why should Pete Carroll be an exception? Let's get away from the Weis thing for a second and into the Carroll thing. Pete Carroll doesn't seem to mind his rock star/celebrity status when shit is going good and he's portrayed as this hip, cool coach. Well, now the spotlight might be replacing the limelight. I don't feel a bit bad for him if it's true. It wasn't Weis' place to air him out. But now that it's out there....if it's true.....America will have an opinion on it just like they do on Tiger's situation even though it has nothing to do with golf. Some people won't have a problem with it. Some will have a big problem with it. But they will have an opinion either way.

dwccrew,
Thank you for the correction, and pointing out ND played in and lost 2 BCS Bowls.

In today's world of Twitter, bloggers, TMZ and other things, NOTHING that a person in the public eye says or does is truly "off the record". And, anybody who is in the public eye knows this is the case.
Fair or unfair, it is the reality of life for individuals who choose to make their living in high profile occupations that put them in the public spotlight. It is part of the price that comes with the fame, money and adulation whenever these individuals have some level of success.

I'm happy to see Weis apologized. None of us are perfect, we all make mistakes, and to me it takes a much bigger person(NOT in pyhsical size) to apology and admit to a mistake than it does to act as if they are perfect.
And, I hope Carroll is adult/mature enough to accept the apology.
I still think Weis was quite arrogant during his time as HC at ND, especially in his first few seasons when he figured he would just waltz into college football and return ND to the most dominant college football program in the country. He is a great offensive coach, but I think he is better suited to coaching in the NFL. In fact, I think he might be able to be a highly successful head coach in the NFL if given the chance. The NFL is 100% business, and he is beter suitied to the NFL environment than coaching in college.

If Weis said these comments as a truth then he is the dumbest person in the world. For as unimpressed I am with his coaching skills at ND I don't think he's that dumb.

I don't buy that Weis is stupid enought to truly believe that this was off the record. You may be believe it, but I am not that naive and I don't think Weis was naive enough to believe that this wouldn't get out.pnhasbeen wrote:He didn't. Did you not read the story on the apology?? He was simply pointing out how rumors spread throughout the media, and I'd say that turned out to be a pretty good example as to what happens when people get any sniff of a story.osu99 wrote: If Weis said these comments as a truth then he is the dumbest person in the world. I can see where Weis is coming from because the Carroll "girlfriend" story is old news but he should have used a better comparison. Swearing isn't exactly comparable to adultery. None the less, he apologized, Carroll accepted and the matter is closed. Anyone who wants to harp on Weis from here on out has a pure agenda as he is no longer the head football coach at Notre Dame and does not represent the University any way.
BTW, here's the updated story as of today from ESPN stating Carroll accepted the apology:

Whats with the new avatar Rocky Kanoot? You bailin' on your beloved Irish and jumpin' on the Pens bandwagon? Next thing we'll know is you have changed your sign-on to Lemio Maru. But I can see your point of wanting to run with a winner. Good Luck with that.

Don't need no stinkin' bandwagon Kanooty...been ridin' that Buckeye Super Powered Locomotive for many many many many successful years now, including the last 3 times "in the modern era" when we wiped NDs nose and sent 'em home cryin. Just like we'll do to the Ducks on Jan 1. Hey BTW...didn't catch which bowl ND was going to this year, I mean you were 6 - 6 so you qualified, but somehow I didn't see it in the paper this morning, must have been an oversight on my part.

I remember Rock Knutne rooting for the Penguins the year the Red Wings beat them for the Cup, so I don't think he just jumped on the bandwagon, I think he's been a fan for awhile.Tiernan wrote: Whats with the new avatar Rocky Kanoot? ^^^Exactly. Rock isn't bandwagon with the Pens and neither am I. Just because you're a fan of a team who recently won a championship doesn't mean that you're a bandwagon fan.
I've got to give dwc credit.....he had no real reason to stick up for Rock there but did. Class, man. Class.

[size=small][size=medium]Wow once again Lemio you have severely disapointed me...I go to all the trouble of really knocking you around with some extra - clever smack and all you got is..."What a dick!"? [size=xx-small]C'mon man you're embarrasing yourself, just say the words "The Ohio State University will always be better than Notre Dame in football" and I'll let up on ya.
