Sucks the Tribe drew their division for interleague play. Still nice the Tribe is getting these west coast trip over with earlier in the year.

It took me a long time to get accustomed to Hammy's style. He was too over dramatic for me. But in recent years I have grown to like him. Herb was just...well...Herb. He broke my heart many times with this line: "there's a drive, deep to left, it's going, going.......AND he reaches up to make the catch!". Good old Herbie!

He has the stuff that could make him a #2 starter and maybe even a #1. His stuff is too good to be put in the pen. And Miller as in Adam? The guy who just pitched for A Kinston for the first time after having not pitched since 2008? He just came back from injury and will be brought along slowly, as he should be given his injury history.
I meant White...not Miller. And yes, I think White should be the fifth starter based on what I've seen. Nobody knows what the future holds...and who will step up...but I know Fausto, Masterson....and especially Talbot and Tomlin have performed a lot better than the heralded Carrasco. People forget that Talbot was our best pitcher last year.

Hafner is joining the team on the left coast which is great news. Duncan has been great...but we need Pronk in the lineup...esp against right handers.

Duncan is BRF's kind of player! Good job and keep it going.

Hey, we might get to 3 pages on this thread before the first pitch of the series is tossed! ;-)

I disagree, Carmona was our best pitcher last year. Talbot pitched well during the first half of the season, but got tired in the second half and really struggled. That's not all that surprising because he hadn't pitched since 2008. However I just haven't seen from him the potential to be anything other then a 3/4 guy in the rotation.

I do agree that Alex White should be in the rotation right now and once someone comes back Gomez should be the one that is sent back to AAA.

Duncan for President! I'd play him in left field over Kearns all day.

Duncan is such a great player to have on your roster.....he can play left, right, first, DH, and come pinch hit off the bench.... now that is versatility! He has a great attitude and is a great fit on this roster!

As far as Alex White and Jeanmar Gomez....

Gomez has pitched 13 innings in 3 outings (2 starts) and has given up 9 runs for an era of 6.23.
White made his MLB debut and pitched 6 qaulity innings only giving up 2 early solo homeruns, then settled down and pitched great. Era is 3.00.

SO, going off of that I would say unless Gomez starts shutting it down and pitching great, you have to send him back down once either Talbot or Carasco comes back, keeping Alex White up to stay in the rotation.

I love Shelly. He just seems like the kind of guy that isnt going to take crap from anybody. I have no doubt that he was on the first step of the dugout talking trash to Miguel after he was hit.

The funny thing to me is that our Tribe threads generally get a LOT of posts, yet we do every game in the series within a single thread, which I actually like...

Yet, the Cincy fans are making threads for every game, sometimes multiple threads are made for the same game, and generally, they're lucky to reach 2 pages.

I like the single thread per series as well.

Exactly....why look for a different thread each day for the same team and same series.

Glad we got the day off today....rest up and get ready for the west coast.

Go Tribe!

As always, on the west coast, I will be pulling for a split. That, and pulling for some quick games that dont ruin my work week lol.

I like the single thread for a series format as well. Ironically I think it started last year because our singe game threads would get like 5 or 6 posts so we started combining so they wouldn't look as pathetic.

Fausto Carmona vs Tyson Ross in game 1 tonight. Tribe are winners of 6 straight and A's have won 6 of 9 and just took 3 of 4 from Texas. Some interesting numbers:

Tribe are 13-3 in night games this season. Oakland is 15-14 overall, but has thrived playing day baseball. A's are 9-3 in day games and just 6-11 under the lights. More good news; the A's kill left-handed starting pitching, going 7-2 so far this season and only 8-12 in games vs RH Starters. Obviously the Tribe won't be sending a lefty to the bump.

In Carmona's last start, he went 7 allowing 2 earned runs, walked 2 and struck out 2 in getting the win vs Kansas City. Ross' last start came vs the Angels. He was great, allowing 0 runs and giving up 4 hits over 7 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 1 man. He got the no decision, as the A's would go on to win 2-1.

Ross has never pitched vs the Tribe. Camona career vs Oakland is not good. He is 3-5 lifetime with an ERA of 5.76 and a WHIP of 1.70. You have to throw these guys strikes because they are so patient. Cleveland has really struggled with Oakland the past couple of years, going just 5-11 vs the A's in the last 2 years, including 1-6 in Oakland.

Wednesday will be a good one. 4-0 Tomlin vs 4-0 Cahill. Thursday will be a day game and the Tribe will send Gomez to the hill vs Brett Anderson

Shelley Duncan comes up to bat to “Bombtrack” by Rage Against the Machine, “Fuel” by Metallica or “The Stroke” by Billy Squier...so he is my dude.

Wow, really surprised it was him. Wickman I could see (lol), nut Choo? I guess it doesn't matter, Miguel Cabrea has had like 5 DUIs and hasnt missed a game. Still no excuse and terrible decision on his part, SMH. Nice example you're setting there Choo.
