When I first saw this, it was a little different. There was a quote about Tim Collins "Head of Football and Video" stating he didn't didn't see any reason not to have practice outside that day.

I'm not trolling, but there was a change in the article from the first time I saw it at work on Thursday to now.

I find it astonishing that nobody realized the information they were using on the storms was over an hour old.

Sorry. When I say said that, I was meaning No Body as in no single person. They're saying it was a collective screw up.

I just saw it on Thursday and forgot about it until tonight. I was a little bored and figured I'd post it since there was nothing else about it?

Well, whoever conducted and published the report. According to the article, Notre Dame did an investigation regarding the matter and found that no single person was at fault. Like I said, it was a collective crew up. Everyone involved could have done something a little differently.

The people looking at the weather information could have been more alert and seen that their information was over an hour old for example.

No single person does not mean the same as NOBODY. Unless you are Brian Hamilton of course.

I'm sure in that report that University President, Fr. Jenkins, assumed total blame as he stated as president, he is ultimately responsible for all University operations and all people overseeing those individual operations. Plus, the Sullivan family made a statement that they are satisfied with ND's actions. Closed case IMO.

Thugs.

Actually, after reading the report, it was a collective screw up. Sometimes accidents do happen however careless or stupid they appear to be.

In reality Note Dame decided not to punish anyone for their screw up.

And how would you have them punish a general mistake? Fire everybody? Make one person the fall guy and fire them? OSHA fined them the max by state law....it was an overall screw up, what happened to Declan Sullivan is awful and can't be undone unfortunately. I'm just not sure what punishment you wanted them to impose and which individual(s) get(s) punished.

I'm also not sure what more you want if the Sullivan's have said what was done is satisfactory in their eyes.

When you have a general clusterfuck of a situation like they did (basically the entire process of determining whether he should be up there was flawed, if there even really was a process), there isn't going to be any one person to pin it onto. At which point, you just send the blame to the top, and the President accepted it.

Yes. Plain and simple. I've fired whole contract crews for lesser accidents. Unacceptable IMO from a business standpoint. This has nothing to do with college football, that has to do with the chain of command being inept.

Because it is acceptable in their eyes means it has to be so in my opinion? Like I said, I have fired whole crews for much less.

Yeah because some guy on a message boards opinion is way more important than the sullivan familys. Give it up seriously. It was a collective fuck up and really no single person is at fault. It was an accident. Could it have been prevented? Yes, but no one would have ever thought something like this would happen. Out of all of this it is making coaches more aware to prevent an accident like this to happen again.

Where did I say that? I said that it doesn't make it right and that will never change my opinion.
Could it have been prevented? Yes
end of story. It could have been prevented, which is the problem. If it was a freak gust of wind on a calm day, ok freak accident. That is not the case.

So (I know you didn't say this) ... how did the President "accept" responisibility? He just said, "my bad"?
