I'm sure this has been mentioned but my biggest fear with these guys (starting pitching)is that, outside of Carmona, they haven't really pitched a complete season (30 starts +/-). I'm just hoping these young guys don't hit the wall.

Well, we've already seen Talbot hit the DL. And he isn't even picking up a baseball for 4 weeks. Add in his rehab and you're looking at 6 weeks minimum. Plus strained elbows can turn out to be much worse.

This is a fear of mine as well, and the major reason I believe they are probably still a year or 2 away from really contending. That could change if they are still in contention around the all-star break and they are willing to move some minor league talent for a quality starter. Also, if a couple of these guys do hit the wall and need some rest, Gomez, Huff and White could come up and provide that opportunity.

The good thing is, we have pitching depth to give guys breaks when needed...

Hopefully it works out.

And Choo is arguably the Indians best hitter. They have the 2nd best record in baseball, are playing great, and other people are picking up his slack. Benching him or even moving him down would be a terrible move.

Thats the same thing I've been hearing with Santana's struggles at the plate. Its working, dont mess with the lineup, let him figure it out etc.. Long as we're winning I have no issues with it.

Prove what point? I'm sure he's well aware of his slow start, I don't think he needs anybody in his ear about it.

As far as them playing like Major Leaguers, well, they are 12-4 tied for the best record in baseball... What more do you want?

Every player in baseball will have a bad stretch, just happened to be that Choo started out that way. You're not going to have every guy in the lineup firing on all cylinders at the same time.

Exactly. Im all for a day off, because I think every player should be getting about 12 a year, if needed. But to drop him in the order this early is jumping the gun.

If Choo started out hitting .428 and then went into this slid and was still hitting around .300 or .275 or whatever the math would be we wouldnt be saying to move him, yet...the slump would be the EXACT same, just later in the year and the numbers wouldnt look terrible.

Laley...you and Hoops == voices of reason. Choo has been our best player over the past 2 years or so. He's a 5 tool guy. Oh sure, he occasionally pulls a rock on the base paths, but overall, the guy is great.

Like Hoops said....isn't the guy entitled to a short term slump? VMart hit over 420 for the entire month of April a few years back. Then he went o'fer 30 or thereabouts. Nobody was calling for his head.

There's nothing to fear. I'm just enjoying some good ball by my tribe. I don't think they are capable of winning it all. We Cleveland fans have been trained like Pavlov's dog not to get overly excited.

It's like this, imo: OQB is seeing things going good and wants to make things better....kinda like in golf, when you are doing good and instead of keep doing what you are doing....ya HAVE to try and make little adjustments to make your game better....and then your game falls apart!!!!
