Went down a run, and kept fighting back. This team is exciting. As a NE Ohioer I still have my doubts, but awesome so far!

Orlando Cabrera said a a few days ago that he wanted to see how the Tribe responded when they got down late.. He kind of found out today.

Grady looks like he's been playing all season, on base 4 times tonight. This was a good win. It sent a message to the Royals and we didn't even have to use Sipp or C Perez.

People love freaking at slow starts.

He started 3/19 last season. He didn't really get it going until around May I believe... It could have honestly been later than that as well...

At the end of the year, he'll be .300/20/90 with over 20 SB.

April aint over, but he hit .317 with 4 HR, 3 2B and 15 RBI last year in April.

I realize he starts slow and will work out of this slump....but as a manager you have to send a message! Call it a day off or whatever you want, but he needs to sit and think about what he needs to do to get that stick going.

At times he looks clueless when he swings....and hasn't produced in those clutch sitiuations yet this year.

Don't think I don't want him in the lineup, he is a great player I just think if it were someone else he would've already had a "day off"

Ok, so he got it going in April. But he started 3/19 or some shit.

And with a little under 2 weeks left in this month, he could possibly do the same.

If he gets a day off, it will probably be tomorrow. They face a left hander. I'm wondering if Grady gets the day off as well. They aren't going to push him yet and it would make sense against a LH.

Id assume Grady is off for sure, which means Choo will play. Grady is only supposed to play 2/3 days I think I read.

Well I would atleast move him down in the lineup until he is out of this slump.

You don't just move your proven players out of their spot because of a few rough weeks. You let them play their way out of the slump. Pujols was batting under .200 after 10 games, you probably would have moved him down in the order too.

Yes, if they aren't producing give me someone that will until they can consistently produce.

Eduardo Perez just said the Indians are legit title contenders.

His main points:

*They're playing the game the way you want to see a team play. Fundamentally sound.

*Great pitching

*Great defense

*Offense is very good, especially with a reborn Pronk, Grady back, and Choo and Santana haven't really started hitting yet.

But Santana is basically a rookie who is coming back from a pretty bad injury. I agree that Choo needs to start looking a bit better at the plate, because that last at bat was terrible.

Santana is doing a very good job managing the pitchers right now...rookie or not.

Glad Grady is hitting well, each time he strikes out I cringe though. I think he will work out as the lead off guy, but I feel Grady isn't seeing as many pitches and being patient and fouling stuff off as the rest of the team. He never has though, but I will take his production the last 2 games every time though.

GREAT win for the tribe. that was a fun game last night. i'm excited to see what gomez can do tonight.

sizemore looks great. with that kinda injury, i will feel much better a month or so from now when he's still running hard and putting good swings out there.

love the contribution off the bench from duncan too. that's one of many things that seperates the bad from the good or even the good from the great. getting a big hit off the bench from a guy who doesn't play a whole lot.

The more I watch this team, the better I feel about them.

Hafner appears to be healthy again. A healthy offseason has obviously helped him tremendously. You can tell he is stronger and trusts his hands/swing more this year and is not trying to cheat to hit certain pitches.
Orlando Cabrera has had a huge impact on this team, especially on Asdrubal. If Druby keeps playing at this level he is a borderline All-Star. The infield defense as a whole is light years ahead of last year.
Michael Brantley is emerging as the player he was touted to be, which is an On-Base machine. I see no reason why this guy won't hit around .300 his entire career while taking walks w/ a low strikeout ratio.
The bullpen has been fantastic. A great bullpen is huge in MLB. It can be crushing to a team to build leads only to watch the bully come in and blow the game. When the manager can basically shorten the game to 7 innings because he knows the back end is going to come in and be lights out, he can do more things early to get that lead instead of hoping for the big inning.
This team is very young, but it does have some guys that have been part of winners. Hafner, Sizemore, Fausto, Raffy and Druby were all parts of the 2007 ALCS team. Orlando Cabrera has basically won everywhere he has been. So its not like these guys have never experienced success at the major league level and that should help the young guys if they are able to continue this level of play later into the year.

I have thought for years that Sizemore should not hit leadoff, and I still wouldn't mind seeing him in a run producing spot in the line-up (3-6) because I feel like for the 1st time in his career they have another legitimate option to replace him. But, when I went back and looked at Grady's prime years, basically his last healthy years from 05-08, he averaged a .371 OBP. That is comparable to or higher than other elite table setters like Ichiro, Rollins and Reyes. He steals bases and can score from first on a double. His speed on the bases is a great asset when the middle of the order is at the plate. I don't have as big of a problem as some do with his strikeouts, if he is getting on base at that clip along with the extra base hits his approach produces. He could probably cut down on his K's, but if that doesn't translate into a much higher average and lowers his HR and 2B's is it really worth it? Does it matter how he makes his outs? In lower levels K's are awful because if a hitter can put the ball in play, there is a chance the defense screws it up. In MLB, that isn't going to happen. Do you really want to see Grady shortening his swing and trying to leg out infield hits or slap the ball the other way, sacrificing his gap and homerun power?
