The Bobcats had their much anticipated debut tonight and Maumee played them tough. Tony Dible was essentially the difference in the ball game as he scored 27 points and was on fire from 3 point territory.

Please provide some additional detail about how each team played. Strengths & weaknesses. Was the game close for awhile or was BG in control? How did the 6-8 Austrian exchange student look? How effective was Chauncey Orr? Xavier Brown? Does Maumee look like they will compete for the upper division in the NLL?

BG showed no inside game...all outside shooting. BG pulled away late second quarter but let Maumee back in it with easy dump off inside buckets. Austrian Max was not a factor at all. Orr was the only player that took it to the hole. vVito Brown had 3-4 blocks..not bad for a freshman. Maumee will be an upper division team

BG will have to do a little less one on one and be a little more patient than they were in their opener. While the outlook is good, it seemed that BG was playing "too fast" at times and being sloppy on the boards, allowing Maumee to get good position on them and get some easy put backs and such. BG also had a cold spell in the first half that helped keep Maumee in the game. In the final few minutes of the first half the Bobcats stretched a 17-15 advantage into a 30-15 advantage and from there on, they would never trail, although the game was never completely in the Bobcat win column until midway in the fourth quarter when BG extended the lead to it's final safe margin. Dible, Orr, and Xavier Brown were the key elements in the BG win. Contat and Barnum played well for the Panthers.

Maumee has a very poor head coach in Derek Sheridan.

^^^Well this is his 2nd year and his team is looking to compete in the top 4 in the league and go over 500%. Not bad considering when he took over the team had won about 5 games the previous year.

Probably the same thing that makes you think that BG will blow Southview out. But anyways until Maumee can show me that they can beat one of the top tier NLL programs Southview, BG, Perrysburg, Rossford, even Springfield I'm not sold on them. Last year in the opener BG beat them by 9 this year it was 13. Will they be more competetive than last year? What would make them go from the basement to the top?

I would have to say that my pick of BG "blowing out" southview came from the fact I only see 2 really good players at Southview and I think Bg will score a lot.

But the real issue here is Maumee and I see them having a more successful season for many reasons. First of all you are saying that they lost by 13 this year and 9 last year to BG. You leave out the fact BG is predicted to finish 1st in the league this year and only finished 7-5 in the league last year.
Also something that may make them go from the bottom to the top is 3-4 returning starters from last seasons team. All of them improving would make the team better. Did I mention the fact they have 2 all-league players in the post?

But I will let them speak for themselves tonight.

Are you serious Southview only having two good players? Gant, Pinckney, Yoshino, Borchedt, Stichter, O'Reiley, Renner, Joseph, Barnett, Quinn. Maybe you should know who plays for Southview before you open your mouth. Who cares about the 3-4 starters that return for Maumee, Northview has 3-4 starters as well but yet they are still garbage. Southview has 2 starters returning off of an NLL winning team. Their JV won the league as well so yeah there aren't any good players at Southview. BG may win but it won't be a blow out. But when Southview plays Maumee it will be. The only people that are predicting BG to win the league are message board fans such as yourself.

Maumee palyed horrible tonight I will say that. Hall did pretty well at the point but without Schnieder tonight Maumee was missing a point who could get them into the offense. O and I can name off everyone from the Maumee roster to doesn't mean all of them are good players.
I have seen all of the players you mentioned from southview play and Gant and Borcherdt are the only 2 "good" ones I see. Pickney is pretty good. Not that impressive.
O and I dont bet but if I did I would put money on the fact Southview doesn't blow maumee out.

You have your opinion and I have mine. All of the above listed players are good if they weren't they would not be on the team. Stichter is a threat offensively and defensively O'Reily is a great shooter as well. To bad your not a betting man.
