Who would've thought Pronk would be batting .354 at any point in the season? Maybe he is back to roiding? Oh well, just as long as he doesn't get caught lol. I am excited to see what this lineup can do if Grady starts to get his groove back like Pronk seems to be doing, and if Choo and Santana start playing like they can.

If Grady decides to play good baseball, I say keep him at the leadoff spot. He seems to play his best there. I really don't like him batting at the heart of the order.

We'll see how long it lasts. With a career OPB of .363, history says it won't.

Yup, as soon as his percentage nears the average or below it, send him to the 6 spot at best in the lineup.

And I stand by my statement that he shouldn't have been in the number 1 spot today. It implies entitlement, however Acta has made good moves so far. I look at it kinda like in basketball when a 3 ball is heaved up and the coach says "Noooooo!"....swish! OK, we take that one.

Exactly. I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth and say "we won't take today's production" but I don't see him as a leadoff hitter.

I don't recall Lofton or Alomar striking out, on average, 140x's per year during their peak 4 years of playing.

Great win today.....I agree wish they wouldn't of had Grady in the leadoff, but hey if he can hit like he did today why not. I just hate leadoff guys striking out....the guy in that spot needs to make contact everytime and let your speed give you a chance to get on base.

Who did they send down, I haven't been able to find who they sent?

No one, Talbot to the 15 day DL. Retroactive, I assume, to the day after his last start.

As for Grady in the leadoff. I was more saying I dont want to move Brantley down. He has excelled thus far. Gradys line tonight, in the 6 hole, looks just as good as his line in the leadoff role. But when he strikes out 3 times in a game, his line is going to look much worse in the leadoff role than it will from the 6 hole. As soon as Brantley starts to strike out a ton (which I dont believe has ever been the case with him), I agree he should move down and allow Grady to bat leadoff, but I doubt Brantley ever gets to that level of Ks.

Id rather a singles hitter bat leadoff and get on for the big boys than have him in the 7 hole for 2 outs not advancing him anywhere.

I think if Brantley goes to the nine hole it could work out pretty well, but thats a pretty big move for someone playing so well. JMO.

Well all the good teams have guys in the 7-9 hole that can hit the ball.....if that guy is Grady or Brantley that just extends the lineup because now we aren't saying...oh we got the bottom 3 guys up this inning, we can say ok we got Buck, Hanahan, and Grady up. This lineup is deep and can hit the ball, I just want wins and I could careless where everyone hits.

Are you just going to keep picking a stat til you find one that works? They have similar OBPs, how you make your outs is really not that important. If anything, you want a guy who Ks a lot to be batting with fewer guys on base, meaning behind the 8 and 9 hitters is the best spot for Grady. If he bats 6th behind their best OBP guys those nonproductive outs will be more detrimental.

What ever happened to Jeremy Sowers? He had some promise, and now he is no where to be found.

He started out pretty well, but the league caught on to him it seems. What a horrible pick for #6 overall. I just thought he was too small.

Well, for the end half of his career a ball thrown through the opposite batter's box was considered a strike on the outside corner, that always helps :p
