This was a great game.. Tony Sipp did a great job in the 8th to get out of that lead off double.

Kudos to Shapiro for getting Chris Perez. When's the last time the tribe fans felt good with a one run lead? Tribe still needs a 3rd baseman and a left fielder to make a run. Not sold on Brantley nor Sizemore for that matter.

I wonder what the chances are of moving Grady to left to keep Brantley at the top of the line up and playing everyday or even Brantley moving to left

I still think Grady has more range than Brantley, so I think Brantley moves to left every day.

I know it's early but really enjoying this start and how these guys are playing. They may just draw about 10 more fans their next home stand.

Grady will go back to center whenever he gets back. That being said I still like Brantley in the leadoff role right now.

For as much criticism as Shapiro takes (somewhat undeservedly) he did turn Casey Blake and Mark DeRosa into Carlos Santana and Chris Perez, two of the most important pieces of our team. That's pretty damn good. He also turned Eduardo Perez and Ben Broussard into Shin-Shoo Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera. That's three of our best hitters and our closer for a "grinder" and a journeyman that had a great season.

He is not a bad gm, but he deserves more criticism than praise for what he got in return for the Lee, CC, and Vmart trades. I bet he would be a great GM with a Yankees type payroll.

Wait a minute now. The VMart trade will be well worth it...if Masterson pitches like he has been. As good as Victor was....he had some real liabilities. Double plays....horrible defensive catcher.like_that;737419 wrote:He is not a bad gm, but he deserves more criticism than praise for what he got in return for the Lee, CC, and Vmart trades. Jury is still out on Masterson imo. I found myself pissed at the trade, as the Sox had much better arms, and prospects to offer.

I agree. I thought the tribe should have demanded Clay Bucholtz. It's a long season....school's not out with cueball Masterson yet.like_that;737438 wrote:Jury is still out on Masterson imo. I found myself pissed at the trade, as the Sox had much better arms, and prospects to offer.

Not only does Masterson have a chance to pan out to be a good starter, the other big piece of that trade, Nick Hagadone, still has a chance to be big time guy out of the bullpen. Not saying it was the greatest trade ever, but it has yielded some talent.

With Azdrubel hitting homers like this, maybe he should be batting cleanup. Second home run of series. Tribe up 1-0

Lol at the commentators bragging about Ichiro's "cannon" the first game. He didn't have much of a cannon there, I just had a Juan Pierre flashback.

I prove again my last point at Ichiro overthrowing cutoff and letting Choo score. Indians up 5-0.

Ichiro is a gold glove outfielder and DOES have a cannon. That error was a fluke...in fact I give the error tio the first baseman. If you can't catch it...let it go through.

Touché. The original post was about the weak throw in an earlier attempt to get someone at home. The error that happened later was just icing on the cake. Mmmmm icing.
