A once storied program has really fallen off. Soccer girls aren't playing, the coaching situation is a revolving door, and many girls leave. Does anybody know who is interested in the job that recently opened up?

Sadly Doylestown has become a suburb of Akron, and a lot of the talent migrates there.

I still think if they could get some of the soccer players out and just use the athleticsm to give defenders trouble it could be very effective. Heard that is easier said than done though.

I hate to admit that soccer players are typically good athletes, but they are. I think winning those players over to play another sport comes down to the coach. Unfortunately rebuilding is a slow process, thinking two or three years down the road while going 2-18 isn't an easy pill to swallow.

The search committee needs to focus on a coach who can relate to the student athletes and sell them on the idea of improving the program everyday. Selling a 16 year old on the concept of leaving a legacy isn't an easy task.

Gotta get somebody who has enjoyed success and knows how to teach defense. Develop a winning mindset and keep the girls out! As bad as Chippewa has been, the WCAL is by no means a loaded conference the next few years.

Actually saw the Chipps play a bit last year and they are not that bad. After Smithville losses their two post players after 2012, they come back to the pack and there is no clear front runner for the next few years.

Dennis Schrock is the surprise returning as coach of the Chipps. What will this do for the program?

It can only help the Chipps and the league. The big change from when he coached before is the WCAL is much improved from 10-20 years ago. I would be surprised if he can turn things around in less than 2-3 years but in another year Smithville loses their last solid post players and talent levels look pretty even at four or five schools . He could contend as early as 2012-2013??
