Apparently! They got away with change, a $100 watch, and over $500 in baseball equipment.

"The break-in rate where I grew up in rural Southern Ahia (a.k.a "Methylvania") is through the roof - they pull up around back of the house or barn, kick in the back door, and clean you out in broad daylight."

And steal the copper from your gutters or your church's gutters. It is amazing how the area gets shittier and shittier every year.

We lock the house at night and when we are away from home. The cars are in a garage, no need to lock them at home. Away from home, for the life of me I can not understand why someone would not lock the door of their car. All one has to do is press the button.

Most of the crime in our area is people entering cars that are not locked. The lazy bastards do not want to make the effort to learn how to break into a vehicle. I do not want to let some rat bastard just take my hard earned possessions. Plus, my cassettes are priceless :)

Lock my car almost every time when I get out of it. No real need to, not much of a threat of it getting stolen or things stolen from it. Just do it out of habit I guess.
