Do you Domers still even want Kelly after today's scare? That woul've been enough to scare me off from offering him the No. 1 coaching job in all sports...at least according to ESPN.

Why the hell would I bring up a random name 2 weeks in to November and say it was going to be him? The oddsmakers had it at 20/1 so I definately could've fabricated a more likely story if that's what you guys think. Funny how two weeks after I said this, everyone in the nation thought for sure it was Stoops. Looks like I'm not the only one that got the memo. Talk after the coach is announced
Everyone in the nation? No, that might be every ND fan. NO media on TV, no media on the net, no cnnsi mentioned much at all about Stoops being any kind of lock to be ND next coach. Many even said it wasn't going to happen.
Hey, maybe you are right. If so, good for you..you got lucky from your second/third hand sources. Maybe ND had targeted Stoops...who knows.
My point is, just as it always has been, and always happens...everytime a big job opens up, or the ND job opens up, we keep hearing all these big names. And each time, none have transpired. Thats the bottom line.
Actually, Adam Schefter reported that Stoops to ND was a lock. Just sayin'.

Let's put it this way.....Brian Kelly is a helluva consolation prize.

I never wanted him (Kelly)to begin with. I've spent the last 15 years or so watching coaches destroy my favorite team. If he's the hire they may give him a 5 year deal I give him a 1. If he doesn't show that he can stop the bleeding and improve the defense I'll find someone else to pay attention to.

Maybe so...but i heard more times then not on ESPN that he wasn't. And I have heard /read more times then not, even from Stoops, that he wasn't.
It comes down to what you want to believe. Sure, ND fans are going to believe SToops was in their pockets...only natural. And maybe he was, or still is.
If thats the case, he will look worse then Saban with as many times as he has denied it this week. At least Kelly has been smart enough to dance around the questions.

I was just saying that there was at least ONE member of the media that reported Stoops to ND as a virtual lock. You said NO ONE. You are right that most reported that it wasn't going to happen though.

If he wants to use an incorrect spelling at "Urban dictionary" to try to prove me wrong, I'll go to a legit source. It's spelled hypocrite.

quoted for truth, I find it funny that he used a source like urban dictionary to try to call someone out.

Carl Janke isn't the most likable man in the world. Although I like him, I know a lot of people that don't.

I know what happened . . .
ND didn't drop the ball, Bob Stoops frequents FreeHuddle and was upset that athlete37 let the cat out of the bag and told the whole world who the next ND coach was going to be.

Nick Saban sure looks bad now for what be did. Denying the Alabama job. If Stoops bolts for ND and wins, noone will care that he "lied"
