You guys can give me all the shit you want when they announce a head coach and his name isn't Bob Stoops. And if it isn't Stoops, Swarbrick botched it. People back out of agreements or demand more sometimes (aka, Stoops wanted complete disciplinary control...). Some demands aren't going to fly at Notre Dame

Yeah those darn Notre Dame fans!! Getting excited about the possibilities of their next head football coach!! What the hell is their problem!!??
I don't care that they get excited, but have you been reading all week? Some said that a deal was already made and Stoops was coming to SB. It was hilarious to read and now to see the reactions.

ftr, i for one, always stated i would rather have brian kelly...many, many times...
And you'll probably get him. I agree that he is the better hire, but he needs to get a d-coordinator.

I'm starting to question if you really did win 31 matches your senior year in wrestling. We may need you to post your picture again to prove yourself.

dwc, weren't you a wrestler from sfs in the 90's? If so, unless your name is Parks or Marzek you can go ahead and sit down now

Your inside info is second or third hand knowledge at best. And if you choose to come into a forum and talk the talk of Stoops so confident....then you made a choice to open yourself up to be ripped if that doesn't happen. So take it like a man.

You sound like Uncle Ricco talking about his old football days. HS is over now, and has been if you're implying you wrestled in the 90's. BREAKING NEWS: Nobody cares how good of a wrestler you were, so don't get cocky about it.

NO, take it like a man that your friend, the TEAM MANAGER actually doesn't know whats going on!! I could probably get more "inside" info about ND then you could with one phone call. So please stop making yourself look like a fool. I am actually trying to help you so you don't embarress yourself anymore then you already have.

My friend isn't the damn team manager, you're a joke if you think I would place that much confidence in information coming from a team manager. If that was my source, I would've just asked the players. They don't know much either, btw

Alot of really good sources said Stoops, they also said he was close to signing, but ND wouldn't give him disciplinary control over the team. Athlete's info was good, although it looks like Kelly now.

Kelly kind of worreis, me, another offense, specifically pass first offense coach.

You could be right I don't know. But if that is what happened, they may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If you can get Bob Stoops, you do it.

So basically the coach wants to be the one to punish his players, and the School wouldn't let him?

Is that to be my understanding of Discinplinary Control?

If athlete's info was truly good then Stoops should have been the new HC by now. It was supposed to be Friday, then it got moved back to sometime next week, and now its not eve Stoops at all.

You came on here with this so called great source info that turned out to be false, you laid yourself out there to be hammered if the info was wrong which it is.

I won't believe anyone is in or out of the running until an announcement is made.

Cards,

I heard a report from a fringe news source that Jim Trafficant is now interested in the job at ND. :)

How do you in FACT know his "sources" were good? Sure doesn't look like that now, does it?
And what other good sources had Stoops? I rarely read anything online that said Stoops was as close as many ND fans were saying. If it was that much common knowledge, it would have been all over the media. And it was nowhere. That alone tells me there wasn't much merit to it.

The minute somebody said that Stoops was going to take the job but wouldn't because of a snag over some disciplinary issue, I knew this was complete BS

Quite honestly, I think Kelly has more upside than Stoops at this point. I would be very pleased with Kelly, that would be a great hire.

I was watching the USC/Arizona game a few minutes ago, and the ticker at the bottom read that ND could announce their coaching decision on Sunday, and Stoops was still denying interest.
