Hitters Derek Lee and Ryan Ludwick should add some pop to the Pirates lineup and it only cost them their top 2 pitching prospects, no wait wrong trade they stole them for next to nothing, the infamous player to be named later for Ludwick. Good moves by the buccos to get actual needs.

Rough week. Some very tough losses. Three in extra innings.

The team still battled but as Clint Hurdle said the other day "it's not a try-hard league, it's a do-good league."

We'll see how the offense looks with Lee and Ludwick. It can't get any worse.

According to the guys at SB Nation, Baker is looked at as having about a 1% chance to be more than a AAAA player.

I was hoping for a 3-4 record during that road trip. Should have had it, but were 2-5 instead. Need to take out the Cubs and Padres in good fashion now, as (as expected), the Cards and Brewers did good against bad teams.

Sigh. Not a good start to our week where we must win. Lose 5-3. Good news is that Lee hit 2 homers, so maybe the Pirates made a good deal there. I'm going Friday. They better freakin win.

Losing to the Cubs. Not good. Especially since it would have been a domination if not for Lee's second home run off Wood late in the game to temporarily make it a one-run game.

I'm starting to get in that "it was fun while it lasted, time for football" mode. They need to turn things around ASAP. Losing to the Phillies is one thing; losing at home to the Cubs can't be happening if they want to even pretend to be a contender. Although, with the way the Brewers are playing now, that might be a moot point for the rest of the division.

That was the most disgusted I've ever been at a Pirates game. I seriously doubt they reach .500 now. The pitching has just collapsed, and are giving up homers like it's batting practice.

And WTF Alvarez? First 3 at bats and hit into 3 double-plays? Way to be responsible for 6 outs in 3AB's.
