Bill Waltons 73-74 team that won 2 straight Titles, 2 straight undefeated seasons and 88 straight games and then didn't win the Title in 73-74 that team was better than the 74-75 Hoosiers.

Didn't that team have 4 loses?? Sorry, but that's too many to consider one of the best to not win.

Zanzibar from the O-Zone looked back a ways at no. 1 overall seeds in the tournament and they didn't fare very well. I think the winning percentage was something like 24 percent...but I'm going off memory. What he posted is off the board now, so I can't retrieve it.

Im pretty sure they have only been doing #1 overall seeds for a few years.

Indiana had one of their best teams ever, and they have had some good ones, in the early 90's. Black and White Graham, Chaeney, Bailey, Henderson. Great lineup but Henderson got hurt and that killed them vs Kansas and Ogretag.

Agreed. Woulda been great to see Henderson playing an see how they did. That team was stacked. People rag on Bailey but he had a solid career at IU coming out of Bedford North Lawrence HS. He finished near top in points I believe....top 12 or 10 I think? Cheaney had as sweet a shot as anyone ever played.

Too young to remmeber the other injury but read about it in Knights book My Story.

Why would you say Kansas this year? OSU was better than them with the same record and actually the number 1 overall seed

Had Wall and Cousins drafted in the top five and Patterson, Bledsoe, and Orton drafted later in the first round. Plus two potential NBA players in Darius Miller and DeAndre Liggins. Even bottom-of-the-bench player Josh Harrellson is now a potential draft pick. Patterson was a preseason All-American, the team went undefeated at Rupp, and Wall and Cousins were both named postseason All-Americans, with Wall in the conversation with Turner for POTY. Averaged an 18 point victory for the season.

I think they rank up there talent-wise, but the overall youth of that team is the reason they aren't higher.
