^^^I don't think it does--the school may make more money, but I don't know if the NCAA does...but, I could be wrong

My guess is through merchandise sales. The more popular a school and the bigger the fanbase (or alumni), the more they make. Which is why I don't think OSU is leaps and bounds ahead of others as much as some would like to believe.
I don't think OSU being a cash cow will be a factor. The NCAA is going to make their money no matter what.

Just like the OHSAA or any state high school gov. body does. They get a cut from everything athletic related plus everything the athletics department does has fees that are due to the NCAA for everything.

The NCAA makes almost all of their money off of the Men's basketball tournament. This funds just about everything they do as an organization. Sure they get a percentage of the merchandise sold...but it doesn't come close to the amount they make during March Madness.

Someone referred to OSU today as "his university's" team today on some thread (Urban one maybe?) here... I was on a phone or was going to type something out, because unless you're an alum you sound like a retard saying that (he may be an alum, the post did not specify) but if not it looked stupid as hell.
