I understand the Newton incident but just using him to show that the only reason some people are upset is I said it pertained to OSU. Most colleges would do the same thing as Tressel did and most do get away with it but OSU got caught and they will have to pay. I think the NCAA rule is a joke and the players should be able to sell their own possessions if they want but I think as a player you would want to cherish the stuff they received from playing at OSU. The bottom line is the NCAA has the rule and when you get caught, you must pay the piper and own up to it. The best part of all this is that I cheer for OSU but I do not live my life around them and I think it is very sad that some people live their lives as if they are going to be unable to function if Gene Smith or Jim Tressel loses their job. I know this goes on in the world but I always thought that was for people that were weak and had nothing else in their lives but maybe I was wrong.

You should have dragged it out for a bit longer. Just to see if someone (like Mr. "I wonder how in the hell a guy who barely played at all while eligible for Ohio State was reinstated before their big game with Kentucky despite them being between quarters, so his grades were up again") would go crazy with theories on how everyone would be fired and they'd get the death penalty like SMU.
