A rumor that I recently heard is that OSU is going to give Tressel a three window to step down and in that time they are going to actively pursue Urban Meyer.

Ok, a-hole...the implication of the thread is that Meyer bought a house in UA and is headed for either the head coaching job as OSU or the AD position....

If either opans out, I will seriously have to re-think my allegiance to the Ohio State University football program if he is named as head coach, or athletic programs in general if he is named AD.

Clear enough for 'ya?

Urban Meyer is an arrogant douchebag.....and one of the last people I want leading my Universities football program or athletic department.

I think we're finding out little by little that there are no more "nice guys" in college football these days.

Yeah as long as no violations are occurring and we are winning, I could care less if the coach is a nice guy

What do you mean by "three window." 3 day window?

I don't understand this. He just lengthened his suspension. What would be the cause of the latest rumors? Don't fucking tell me bc Bruce Pearl was fired.

That was already posted in this thread, where Dynasty and I were arguing about why I think the Pearl and Tressel situation isn't really that similar

Clear to me that you are a bandwagoner then. Meyer possibly becoming affiliated to the school will make you "re-think" your allegiance? No one is above the program, not even Urban Meyer. I root for the Ohio State University, not the coach or AD. Your perogative though.

Bandwagoner.....I think not. I have been a fan since 1966. it is clear that Meyer thinks he is above any program...he certainly showed that at Florida. His narcisism is clearly not needed in Columbus, Ohio.

That's one thing I really appreciate about JT. When he was hired, he immediately embraced the program, tradition, and individuals that came before him (including former coaches). I'm not saying Urban Meyer is the opposite, but there are a few other coaches who act like they're the greatest thing ever and nothing about their current program mattered until they showed up.

This is all fine, but if Meyer were to take over at TOSU and win, to continue the dominance over Michigan, to lead TOSU to BCS bowls and contend for a national title, a lot of folks would get behind him in a hurry. Like many here, my allegiance is to TOSU. If their coach sucks, I'll voice my displeasure but I will always root for the Buckeyes.

Common Man and the Torg were talking about this earlier. They said it was blowing up on the message boards. I was hoping their source was Ohio Chatter, but I'm not sure that they ever said where they got the tip

I didn't wanna do this just for a rumor, but since it is gaining steam...

I have a buddy who is decently high up in UA city operations, I'll ask him if there is any truth to this. His office typically will know the answer to these things. I should have an answer to this sometime early next week. He is a pain in the ass to get ahold of because he and his wife like to hike and such every weekend

Rumor I heard was that he bought Herbie's house and Herbie is moving to Nashville because he can't hack the Ohio State fans getting on his case for trying to be neutral.
