Cavs could have got the most value by picking Williams number 1 and getting Knight at 4

I'll take this as a good sign as you know nothing about basketball.

Almost every year in the 2000's theres at least been a sure fire franchise #1 type player. This year may be decent with overall talent, but the cream of the crop certainly doesnt look to be very good

Do you have a link that none of these players will be a franchise #1 type player? None of these guys have played a minute in the NBA, and last time I checked, guys like Oden, Kwame Brown, etc have all busted out.

The point is, you can judge how weak a draft is maybe 5 years from now. You've been HOODWINKED by the media, and it goes to show that none of you think for yourself and just follow whatever garbage is spewed to you on ESPN.

Not a big fan of it myself, but utah really fucked us. We had to do what we had to if we couldnt get good value for the pick.
As for picking williams first, them knight at #4.... hindsight is always 20/20

Okay, can you tell me which picks in the past years have been consensus #1 franchise type players? Give me the last 5 years.

This will be hilarious, I can't wait to expose your ignorance.

yeah, I would have liked the williams and knight picks for value....but I am happy with Irving. The Thompson pick is interesting, but who knows....

The last 3 #1 players drafted? Wall, Griffin and Rose were all pegged as Franchise type players. Irving is good, very good. But people arent speaking nearly as highly of him as they did those players I just listed

Middle of the college season weren't they talking about Thompson being a possible #1 pick?

True. But you and I talking about it is one thing, Grant has to be prepared for this sort of thing. Didn't seem like they had a backup plan once the Jazz picked Kanter

Wall sucks, how about Barnagni, Oden, Bogut? I'll give your Rose and Griffin, but outside of them there hasn't been that type of player since Dwight in 2004. Have you looked at recent draft history? Lot's of garbage players were selected in the lottery the past 5-6 years, I don't think this draft is any weaker than any other draft.

The last four have all had guys that were labeled as franchise changers.

Of the five, 3 are at or near MVP caliber, one is still up in the air, and one was a bust.

2010 - Wall
2009 - Blake Griffin
2008 - Derrick Rose(small debate with Beasley, but no real suspense about who would be #1)
2007 - Oden and Durant both fell into the category of franchise changing players in most people's minds
2006 - none(poor draft)

Yes they did, his name was Tristan Thompson. There was a reason he was a late edition to the Williams/Kanter workout

well it is euro heavy and most of us aren't familiar with the foreign players, so it doesn't have the marquee names...that is for sure.

Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Just looking at some of the film, he doesn't seem like much of a difference maker. They should have traded that pick
