haden is everywhere. great to have him repping the city.

also, tristan needs to bulk up. he's going to get pushed around badly on the block. a long lockout may be good for him to add muscle before getting thrown into the fire

Haden is great. He was at the Cavs draft party last night too. Had on a Jamison jersey and sported a Cavs "tattoo". At this point, i'm wondering when he announces he's going to become a minority owner with the Cavs haha

Only problem is you can't trade a player with the TPE. There would have to be 2 separate deals.

Agreed, I'd be estatic, Doubt he's moved at all though. Not really any pressure on Memphis to move him.

I dont understand how they are going to be able to keep all their guys. They just paid Randolph a ton of money and you know that Gasol is going to get paid. I dont think they have any pressure to move him either but I could see it happening

Ellis is a hell of a scorer, and honestly i think if hes in the right system he will play defense. Nobody at allllllllll plays D for golden state. He has all the tools to be a good defender at his position

From listening to the radio today, it seems like a lot of people are poo-pooing the Cavs pick of Thompson. I pretty much agree. I mean I could be wrong, but any time I hear somebody say a prospect "must become a better low-post scorer" I probably run the other direction. The way I understand it, he can rebound and block shots, but that's it? That's all you want from the 4th pick?

I would have either pick Jonas or Jan Vesely at #4. I'd hate to hear that the Cavs reasoning for passing up on Jonas V was that they might have to wait a year. That would be a joke.

^^^Dont be an idiot no that's not ALL he can do...that's what he's proven he can do. Everything else he has the potential to do well its just not consistently there yet. This is a process its gonna take some time

I have heard it go both ways. There seems to be quite a few people in the media that liked the Cavs 1st round picks. I wasnt a huge fan of the Thompson pick at first but I am starting to come around.

Most of the prospects outside of Irving and Williams seem to have some flaws in their game. No matter who the Cavs drafted at 4 the chances were pretty good that there would be some areas that they need to improve on. The knock on Jonas was that he cant create his own shot and gets pushed around by bigger defenders. Vesley has been referred to as an "energy guy", there isnt anything about his game that really stands out. Point that I'm making is all of these top picks had some question marks. Thompson might have some work to do but no more than any of the guys that were picked after him

They had Chris Grant on WKNR this afternoon and it sounded like Thompson was the target at #4 all along. Now that could just be GM "spin" but he said he was the target. Roda was trying to hold Grant's feet to the fire regarding all of the forwards they targeted in the draft and Grant turned it on him and made Roda look like an ass.

That shouldnt have been too hard

If the Cavs had Thompson as the best player available on their board I'm fine with the pick. This team isnt going to compete anytime soon, get the bpa and go on from there. The 2012 draft class is going to be loaded with wing players, they can address the 2 and 3 at that time

See, these are my thoughts. Next years draft should have some very good players and I'm hearing that in the early mocks, Harrison Barnes isn't even the top player. Depending on what they do in free agency, we can only hope this team is a lottery team again in 2012. Irving, Thompson and next years' draft choices should be a very nice start toward righting the ship.

I think the lockout will almost guarantee that.

According to some "insiders", Tristan Thompson worked out twice with the Cavs. He was in during the same time as Derrick and Enes, and I guess he did VERY well against those two.

He also showed more "drive" than both of them.

Like I said, I'm very happy with the picks. I think Thompson is already better than JJ, he just needs the offensive polish.

Anyway, here's a nice little vid of Kyrie Irving

Roda is a bitch. He thinks he's "Basketball Jones" or something because he was some scrub that played at B-W. Talking about how he should have a shot at playing for the Cavs with his career 70% free throw shooting over Thompson's 48%. BFD...I'm the airball king and I can hit 7 out of 10 free throws. He just likes to whine about EVERYTHING. Best advice I could give to him is "go back to Shitburgh ya freakin' OSU/Cavs bandwagoner."
