Are you a Duke football fan too?

Yes.
Was up in South Bend back in 2008, ND fans were pleasant and treated everyone in our tailgate really well.

Of course it is much easier when victory is all but assured.

Yeah, that Arguing with David clip pretty much defines everyone who hates Duke (everyone who is not a fan of Carolina, that is; that hate is obvious).

BUT, I do understand blind hate. Each time David Lighty takes the floor in the tournament this year, I will be on the edge of my seat in hopes that he will lose and I will want him to cry because of it on TV. I will enjoy that beyond words. One, I hate the Buckeyes. Two, I hate how Lighty's head looks.

The hate for duke is not blind. Was it Pete Gilliland who said,"duke is on TV more than Leave it to Beaver reruns"? Nobody is blind about duke. The duke way is well known.

So the "Duke Way," as you call it, is built fundamentally around flopping and this is why the Blue Devils are Hitler's Youth? I can live with that.

As for "Duke getting all the calls," you will find my favorite quote in response to that below. I also posted it earlier in this thread.

Reporter: Do you think the officials favor Duke?
Coach K: I sure hope so.

So do I.

According to Jay Williams, Coach K has confirmed that Kyrie Irving will play in the 1st round against Hampton.

Go ahead and hand them the damn hardware right now. Just as I expected.

LOL. I can't even tell anymore if you are employing reverse psychology or if you've just given up. ;)

Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet. We have some work to do.

It changed my mind regarding my bracket.

I had duke as the winner in my bracket before the Irving news. Senior leadership that has won before is a definite asset. I have been extremely impressed with Nolan Smith the past few weeks. He is a complete college player with a great will to win. Tough to beat.

Last year's tournament was Kentucky's to lose and they lost. This year's tournament is duke's to lose. Will they?

karen lotz,
Two years ago Duke won 5 games, last year we won three. With Renfree back for his junior year and not coming off knee surgery I hope to have a better start. Of course hosting Stanford in week two doesn't help, but UVA, Carolina, FIU, and Richmond are winnable games.

btw, go ahead and try to tell me a Duke football joke I haven't heard. You are going to a well that is dried up.
Of course the fact that you scheduled Duke says more about the status of your program than it does ours. Isn't there another ACC team you could schedule? One with a bit more panache?

In karen's defense, Duke is one of ND's cupcake games when you look at the rest of their schedule

Any inside info on Iriving's actual physical condition? Is he 100% or will he be somewhat limited? That does affect my bracket a bit.

Coach K supposedly said his minutes will be limited and that he would not start.

I would guess he will not play unless he is 100%. This kid is top 5 pick and will be very careful.

Here was their schedule when Duke played them. ND went 3-9 that season.
Sep. 01 GEORGIA TECH - 3-33 (L) (27-6-1) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Sep. 08 Penn State (14) - 10-31 (L) (9-9-1) Beaver Stadium,

Sep. 15 Michigan - 0-38 (L) (14-20-1) Michigan Stadium,

Sep. 22 Michigan State - 14-38 (L) (44-26-1) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Sep. 29 Purdue - 19-33 (L) (51-26-2) Ross-Ade Stadium,

Oct. 06 at UCLA - 20-06 (W) (4-0-0) Rose Bowl,

Oct. 13 Boston College (04) - 14-27 (L) (9-8-0) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Oct. 20 Southern Cal(13) - 0-38 (L) (42-32-5) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Nov. 03 NAVY - 44-46 (L) 3 OT (70-10-1) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Nov. 10 AIF FORCE - 24-41 (L) (22-6-0) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Nov. 17 DUKE - 28-07 (W) (3-1-0) NOTRE DAME STADIUM,

Nov. 24 Stanford - 21-14 (W) (16-6-0) Stanford Stadium,

That same season Duke went 1-11 with their lone victory against Northwestern. My argument would be, if you are going to schedule a cupcake why not play a directional school. The 28-7 victory wasn't exactly a blowout, although Jimmy Claussen threw for 300+

Agree, Duke wouldn't put him out there unless he was fully recovered. He will play sparingly in the opener and they will readdress his situation. This was per Coach K on Monday. Also said Kyrie will be evaluated for pt minutes on thursday at their open practice in Charlotte.

So do I.
Your response is a piece of shit completely subjective response. So because Coach K and yourself hope that you get all the calls, that suddenly makes it right for Duke to get EDIT: MOST calls?? Come on now, that's a terrible response when someone brings up the legitimate point that Duke gets an unfair advantage when it comes to officiating.

Duke gets every call? You really believe that? How can something that is essentially impossible be a legitimate point?

Angry? I could just as easily type that your response is a piece of shit completely subjective response that is blinded by complete subjective hate and totally ignores the fact that Coach K has a beautifully dry sense of humor and simply wanted to put some punk reporter in his fucking place.

I was referring to the statement you said about ND fans being pleasant, etc while you were there. It doesn't have anything to do with whether they blow the team out or not. I don't want to hijack the thread, but 2010 was the first game against a MAC school/directional school. I don't know what the comment about the status of the program is supposed to mean? ND/Duke was 3 years ago and was probably scheduled a couple years before they played. I'd say if a team's easiest opponent is from a BCS conference, that is a pretty challenging schedule.

Continue on with the lovefest of 7 footers flopping and shooting 3s.

Not if it's called a charge......If you can't land, don't take off. I like the game below the rim anyways
