I can't say I'm a true fan, but I tend to follow it more this time of year. I guess its due to Miami University having some decent teams as of late. They are just up the road.

Huge college hockey fan myself.
I wish I could see more, but being in DC, it is hard to follow games.
Favorite team: OSU, followed by Miami.
(Even though both team hate each other, g/f went to Miami and went to many games in the old Gog) Still root for OSU when the two play.

Least favorite team is Michigan, also don't like any of the Boston area teams.

Big fan. Hate the Sue and Becky. Love the Gophers and BU (the two alma maters). And yes, I'm ticked as hell that we got swept by Anchorage. Lucia has some issues that aren't going away ... and I wouldn't be sad if his contract runs out. Missing the tournament that many years in a row at Minnesota is unacceptable.

What are everyone's thoughts on the likely Big Ten conference once Penn State gets its feet wet?

I'm not a fan of the an apparent Big Ten hockey league as I loved the CCHA and the OSU/ Miami rivalry. If OSU and Miami could keep at least a home and home each year, then maybe I could support the Big Ten conference.

The Big Ten Hockey will suck. The best conference is the WCHA. GOROCKS what's up with Minnesota getting upset by Alaska Anchorage in the first round of the WCHA? Was looking forward to seeing them play in St Paul next weekend in the Final Five.

Go Sioux!!

As ptown stated, I would like to see the OSU/Miami rivalry continue, which i think it would. I also hope Miami keeps its rivalry with Michigan. You can't get upset about the Big Ten forming a hockey conference, as it means that hockey at the college level is growing. As a fan it will be a bummer see the CCHA take a hit in talent. I wonder what the conference will do with Michigan, Mich St, OSU all leaving. Miami and Notre dame will be the clear front runners of that conference. Hopefully they add some more talented teams to the conference, but replacing Michigan and Mich St is going to be tough. I wonder if it will affect the recruiting for the teams in the CCHA as well. The Big Ten will reap recruiting benefits from the exposure on the BTN i am sure.

Can't wait until they revert back to the Flickertails. That will be funny :)

But seriously, the problem w/ the Gophers as of late, as I see it, is that Lucia recruits a lot of really good players ... but hasn't recruited a really good team. When you look at teams like Wisconsin, they're led by senior talent in their great seasons and the Gophers haven't had that leadership since probably Keith Ballard was on the team. In 2007 they won the WCHA but Kessel was such a bitch in the locker room that there was no way they were gonna go anywhere in the NCAAs...ever since then it has been crap.

^^^The Sioux have a great jersey.

I follow the Buckeyes when it comes to college hockey. Don't like Wisconsin or Michigan.

Is there any chance Kent State will reinstate hockey as a varsity sport? Our facility is quite decent.

I follow Michigan and also Miami since they are close by. Looks like they are on track to meet up in the CCHA finals.
