Jim O'Brien isn't Jim Tressel.

thedynasty1998;703193 wrote:LOIC has to do with the whole program, I understand that. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'll go through and list things that could potentially be issues:
* A procedure is established for timely communication among various university offices regarding determinations that affect compliance with NCAA rules.
* Informational and educational programs are established to inform athletics boosters of the limitations on their activities under NCAA rules and of the penalties that can arise if they are responsible for rule violations.
* An internal monitoring system is in place to ensure compliance with NCAA rules.
* An external audit of athletics compliance is undertaken at reasonable intervals.
* The chief executive officer and other senior administrators make clear that they demand compliance with NCAA rules and that they will not tolerate those who deliberately violate the rules or do so through gross negligence.
If Tressel was aware back when Yahoo states, that is point #1.
If the tattoo parlor owner is considered a booster (I don't know if he was), that's #2.
I think #3 and #4 would result from any major violation.
If the NCAA has a problem with not only the tattoos, but also factors in Troy Smith and Clarett, then the last point could be reasonable.

Absolutely it's a fireable offense. Just think it would take more than this to fire Tressel.LJ;703238 wrote:It's a fireable offense in his contract, and honestly, I believe he would be let go. I also honestly would want him let go as well.
Why am I an idiot? I've brought more facts to this discussion than you have.lhslep134;703245 wrote:What have I claimed you're making up?
The only things I've claimed are Martin played at OSU in '09 and that you're an idiot, both of which are truths.
If nothing else, you admitted that one of them was broken. So, as long as a booster is informed what is right and wrong, that's all the responsibility of the University? Yea right.lhslep134;703239 wrote:#1 is the only thing broken (if true of course)
#2: He wasn't a true booster in the sense of the word (openly contributing money to the university), and if he was, I'm sure that he was well versed by OSU on the rules, even if he chose to ignore them. So OSU is fine here
#3 is completed by the compliance office so they're fine there
#4 I'm sure the compliance office takes care of as well
#5 I'm pretty sure OSU has made it aware that they demand compliance.
So once again, SHOCKER, you're wrong. If anyone is in trouble here, it would be Tressel, not the program.

The thing is, if they come out and deny deny deny and Yahoo! still has another bullet in the chamber, like emails, phone calls etc then the whole AD is in jeopardy and not just JT. I think that is why they are taking their time, because if there is evidence they don't want to come out right away denying it. They just need to do their due diligence and check it out.Fab1b;703299 wrote:Because that is what Yahoo, ESPN, etc...wants, to hear OSU come out and deny it.
