Where are all the clowns that said "Terelle Pryor will win at least 1 National Championship during his college years."??

All this fucker managed to do was consistently fail to deliver on the field because of bad decision making on the field, and drive tOSU into the ground with his supid decisions off it.

I'm not going to condone any sort of cover up, but the fact that they felt they had to do anything to cover for him is criminal.

OSU deserves whatever's coming, but it'd be nice if these players would have never put them in this position.

I remember when I first got into college football and OSU as a kid. I always thought that the game was more entertaining compared to the NFL and that it was cool that kids/students were on the field.

Of course off the field stuff was going on, but I don't feel that the media ran with it like they do today. I'm growing soooo fucking TIRED of the off the field shit that occurs and how the media handles it. Also just the general dishonesty and shadiness that goes along with most big business.

Yea let's hate fucking 18-21 year old kids. Gtfo. Some of the ppl on here amaze me. Tress was wrong. Very wrong. But I'd still want my kid playing for him. And I still want him being the coach for my team. We found out tress isn't the second coming of Jesus last night. He made mistakes and will pay for them. People around the country already hate OSU. This doesn't change anything. Tress will come back with an edge we've never gotten to see. I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to get to our house in japan Sunday and hang my buckeye flag. We still bleed scarlet and grey and support the players and the coaches.

Go bucks.

I haven't read anything on here since the presser, but here are some of my thoughts:

1. Tressel never apologized. I do not like that.
2. He said that he didn't come forward because of the confidentiality of the issue, however, the original email didn't ask for confidentiality.
3. How stupid can he not to go forward when there was a federal investigation? Did he think it was going to go away.
4. This isn't as big of an issue as some want to make it out to be.

Hey...Tressel screwed up, NO question, no excuses. He and OSU are and will pay the price. The haters can hate, and OSU fans will have to deal with it. They would hate anyway. Right or wrong, he was looking out for his players and made a poor judgement. He didn't pay someone, he didn't cheat recruiting wise, no agents are involved. Yes, its not good, nor do I condone what he did. Its a black eye for Tressel and the university, no question. And its easy to read the emails and come to some kind of judgement. But those with half a brain realize, there was probably much more to the situation than what is seen by the eye right now. I'd like to believe we have all been in situations where you have questioned your own judgement. Its not always an easy thing to do depending on the circumstances. I believe in my heart of hearts, he is a good man. I have met him, and seen him in action doing great things for the common good. I'll gaurantee he has done 100x more good, than bad. Unfortunately in this negative media blitz world we live in, those things never come to light and are rarely mentioned.
Now we just wait for the NCAA and move on. OSU will recover. And I believe in time, Tressel will as well.

In May of 2009, The Columbus Dispatch reported that since 2000, Ohio State had reported to the NCAA more than 375 violations -- the most of any of the 69 Football Bowl Subdivision schools that provided documents to the newspaper through public-records requests. Most of the infractions were minor and resulted in little or no punishment.

This is the sentiment I really don't understand. And I'm not singling you out, because you are not the only one to say this. How was he looking out for his players? The only person he was looking out for is himself. If he was looking out for his players he either tries to cover it up (Bad) or confronts it before it get too big (not what he did).

Ignoring the issue is not looking out for his players. This was a federal investigation, so by looking out for his players he chose to ignore the situation? Doesn't add up to me.

I'm not sure who Jason Lloyd is but that was brutal and 110% factual. I hate to burst some OSU fan's bubble's but 2 games and 250K isnt going to make this one go away.

The NCAA loves Tressel and the money he generates but even they have to maintain some form respectability.

Not saying you are wrong, or I am right. But as I mentioned, we are only hearing and reading so much. We don't know the whole story, and never will. I have learned in my life, not to judge people so harshly having never walked in their shoes. Try to keep an open mind to most things.

And the best self-reporting system in place. Virtually all of those were minor things found by the compliance people and reported.

I laugh when people bring up that stat because it only shows how HONEST OSU has been at trying to keep its program clean. And as noted, they have the biggest athletic program (or one of the biggest) in the country.

I don't know if true or not, but I would imagine they also have more compliance officers than other Universities. If you want to argue that they are minor, that's fine. But don't use the excuse that the AD is so big they are going to happen regardless. That just means OSU doesn't take it seriously and is understaffed.

They ARE minor offenses! If they weren't, the majority of the infractions wouldn't have been minor penalties or no penalties.

I think when you compare to everyone else who reports quite a few, then considering the size of OSU.....its all relative. And yes, they probably are understaffed. I think that would be common for many univesities in this area.
