I've been easing myself into it. Over the weekend switched to two meals instead of three and extending the fast until later in the day. First meal was at around 5-6 on Saturday and Sunday. It's wasn't too bad. It also helped that I slept in til noon both days.

I know I only have a small sample size, but I am impressed with the changes so far. I have not touched into paleo eating yet, but have cut out fast food and pop.

My supplements are the ECA stack (which I take in the morning), fish oil (morning, not sure when is best, though), and whey protein (post workout).

I only drink green tea (which I make with very light sugar), V8, water, and some milk. I have been doing the 16-8 intermittent fasting, which is pretty easy by the way, even without the ECA stack. My eating window is the seemingly common 2-10pm. I usually drink coffee in the morning, but have switched to green tea. I spend nearly $600 a month on food and alcohol. Hopefully better eating habits and not drinking (buying) coffee everyday will cut that close to in half. I know I will inevitably break the fast on the weekends when I am drinking late at night. Any tips on how to deal with that?

Have had great success with the reverse pyramid lifts. I do the 8-10-12. 12 is the minimum on my last set, I do as many reps as I can after. I've done my shoulders/back and bi's/tri's day this week and have gone up in everything with the reverse pyramid. It's weird...I am able to do more weight on my 8 rep set, but my following sets feel light and am able to do them easier as well as more reps; I think because I start out high weight? I dont see how this isnt more common. Maybe it just makes too much sense lol. My workout partner was pretty hesitant to try this at first, but just doing it one time he has fully bought into it.

Anyways, I feel a lot better, healthier, and stronger. I dont see how I wont be able to keep it up.

I spend about $600 a month just on alcohol.

If so, only because you get over charged at douchey DC bars. Nearly impossible to spend >$600 a month drinking bud light at an average of one per hour :D

I'm with Pick. I started doing the reverse pyramid on my bench and thus far it's been great. I'm going to do it on more of my lifts.

I still eat like shit.

If you're not binge drinking every Friday and Saturday I would't even sweat it. Just go high protein, low carb that day and say fuck it. Go about your next day as you would on normally with your feeding window.

Also, I hate to break it to you, but cooking at home with "healthy" choices in terms of food isn't that cheap. I thought I would save a ton by lessoning my eating out and booze consumption. Not so much.

Here's a writeup about boozing from the LG site.
http://www.leangains.com/2010/07/truth-about-alcohol-fat-loss-and-muscle.

I've also jumped on the reverse pyramid bangwagon. I've only done two workouts with it, but so far so good. I was leaning towards the 5/3/1 program, but I think I'm going to stick with this.

Told ya. ;) If you think about it, starting at your heaviest, when you're freshest, only makes sense.

Just broke the 24 hour fast. It wasn't too bad at all. I'll definitely do it again.

The only time I felt really hungry was about an hour after my workout, last night at 8pm. Other than that....smooth sailin'.

As previously mentioned, once you get past a certain point, it's all good. Sugar free gum usually helps me.

I just kept my mind off of it, did stuff around the apartment all night and slammed coffee in the AM. I might start doing it weekly, we'll see.

Do it weekly for at least 10 weeks, and then report the results to us. I need to know if it will be beneficial to me. Thanks!

lol, that's a bit ambitious.

How long have you been keeping at 16/8? Seeing results?

I started around october, kinda got off track during the holidays. Not with the fasting, but the actual food i was consuming lol. I would say during that time frame i maintained what I had for the most part, just not much improvement. Now back on track, and it's once again crazy how quickly you can see results.

The first time or two you do it, it may be annoying but it becomes pretty easy after that. For me, a lot of it had to do with when I used to eat sugar/carbs before bed. I'd wake up famished. When I cut that crap out, it wasn't bad.

I'm the same way. Football season + holidays are a killer for me as well. I stick to the timing, but more often then not I don't give a shit what I'm eating. I know one thing, 30 days of eating strict and losing fat gets negated REAL quick...takes about 7 days of eating like a fatty.

First 10-14 days I was feeling hungry and a bit annoyed, after that my body adjusted and now it feels natural.

You ever try the ECA stack? Gives energy, burns fat, and supresses hunger. Win all around.

Coffee coffee coffee.

I used to be on the ECA stack bandwagon, then I just got tired of searching out places to buy Bronkaid.

I havent bought it in a while, and different states probably have different laws, but I just go to CVS and ask for it. Its behind the counter.

New exercise for those who isolate muscles...take a few tractor chains and hook them through two D-handles. Do skullcrushers/lying tricep extensions with a d-handle in each hand.

This is perfect for those with elbow issues. You get the resistance on the way up but no tension on the elbows when you bring your hands down by your ears.

Never heard of it. I drink coffee and chug water ha. My goal is to do the fasting during the week. It's torture when I'm home over the weekend unless i do an early morning workout.

What's different for you during the weekend?

I feel it's rather easy to maintain, especially during the weekend in regards to working out fasted.

Sleep in a bit, do some laundry or random stuff then workout. I time it so I'm eating my first meal right after I workout.
