Have you made Sisson's pancakes? They are a bit dry but the taste is pretty good. I usually go with Robb Wolf's because it substitutes almond butter for the coconut flour. The coconut flour adds too many carbs for my taste.

I was able to make 9 and there are 5 left after this morning. They'll probably be gone early tomorrow.

I did make them back when I was first trying this stuff out. I liked them. I'll have to try them with almond butter instead of coconut flour.

Nope, got the recepie? I haven't dove into almond flour and coconut flour thing at all, just because I am trying to keep it simple and keep the carbs low.

Wolf's recipe is:

2 raw eggs
1/2 cup almond butter
dash of cinnamon & vanilla extract
1/2 cuup unsweetened applesauce

whisk and spoon out onto the pan like regular pancakes....so simple and only 5 ingredients.

Justin...can you post Sisson's pancake recipe for OneBuckeye since you have the book handy? I don't recall what all is in it.

EDIT: That crumble looks awesome.

Sounds easy and tasty, but damn that is a lot of almond butter.

Not really. Paleo is typically a little higher fat than Sisson's "Primal." Things like coconut flour, dairy, some kinds of nuts, etc are not part of Paleo where Sisson's Primal is a bit more lenient.

I actually don't have any book handy. I was pulling screen shots from amazon on those two recipes. :)

My books should come in today or tomorrow.

Both EXCELLENT choices. Haven't bought Sarah's book but she's bookmarked on my Facebook so I get updates on her all of the time. She actually is a trainer, I believe, for Robb Wolf's Crossfit outfit out in California. He did a review of her book. I heard Amazon was having some earlier issues shipping her book.

There's a shit ton of paleo/Primal sites on Facebook. One to check out is IPMG (International Paleo Movement Group). A lot of good info there.

Anyone out there like the Larabar brand. Most of them are nothing but fruit, nuts and dates. I'll grab a cherry or apple pie bar for a hunger snack.

I used to eat them almost daily before I knew anything about paleo. Loved them.

Does anyone know of any good sources for cheaper nuts (har har) in bulk? Bought some at Whole Foods last night but I know I can get them cheaper elsewhere.

I'd go online to Amazon or some place like that but I'd be a little cautious if you Google "cheap nuts." You may end up getting a picture of Mantooth that will scar you for life.

Aldi's has cheap almonds. But the cheapest nuts are at amish bulk food stores. There are a couple in Wayne County I frequent.

I had 1/2 a rotisserie chicken, a kale & lettuce salad with EVOO & balsamic with a ON chocolate peanut butter casein/shredded coconut/coconut milk "pudding" for dessert.

Ok..... been evaluating the workout and I think my 70 minutes (total) of cardio a week is too much. Gonna dial it in and add another Crossfit day and drop a cardio day to scale back to 40 minutes of cardio a week. The extra lifting should accelerate the fat loss. So I will have one bodyweight circuit (pushups, pullups, dips), one power clean/speed jump rope circuit, one deadlift/burpee circuit and one squat/speed jacks circuit. Will also do 2 days of 20 minute interval sprints.

Just sent my uncle an email about buying a half of grass-fed beef. Hopefully they've got something getting close to weight.

Do you buy yours in bulk, BR? If so, how much do you pay per pound if you don't mind me asking? I've found a couple farms in Ohio that strictly deal in grass-fed beef and the best I've found was $3.49/lb for a whole, $3.99/lb for a half.

Anywhere from $3.00-$4.00/lb is about the going rate, so you're good. There may be a kill fee too that they tack on. Dude, if you can hook up with some grassfed bison DO IT. Unbelievable!

I am supposed to purchase a 1/2 a cow at the end of May.

If you haven't done it, with that nice house you posted on here, you might want to build a wooden box in the back yard and you and the Mrs plant your own garden. Next, build a small chicken coop for the Omega rich eggs. ;)

I wouldn't be able to get away with chickens but I've thought about planting a small garden in the back. I'm really greasing the wheels with the wife to get a few acres in the country for our next house and essentially become self sufficient on food. We wouldn't need an ass-ton of acreage to raise one or two cattle and a couple hogs with some chickens running around. I found the perfect property on craiglist tonight but unfortunately it's in Mansfield. :)

That's the way to do it. Become self sufficient. You'll be a lot healthier for it. If you don't go the garden route, check into a CSA...

I was half joking about the chickens. Not easy to pull that off in the city.

BTW...the place I get my beef/pork/bison/chicken (they even make grassfed dog food) is...
