It would suck; don't get me wrong.
If there's more rules to this game than "try to do your best and be a decent person" then my feelings start to align witht the song Bukowski by Modest Mouse.
If God takes life, he's an Indian giver

Ah, I guess that means Christianity is the correct religion. Or how about Islam? Scientology? I can't tell, I guess you have to have faith. LOL

You just asked how to prove the existence of God.

I just simply listed a defenseless good for nothing animal versus an alpha animal. One of which has survived and one hasn't. Seemingly impossible, but it is what it is.

I was just trying to say something a little out of the box than the typical responses.

Where did I mention religion?

It's a terrible argument. I wouldn't expect someone of your caliber to come up with anything better. Mediocrity is your future, good luck.

That's a really bad argument. It is not seemingly impossible in anyway that sabre tooth's are extinct while sheep aren't.

It's pretty crazy that sheep are still here if you think about it.

Besides being good targets for other animals to eat. Why would Sheep survive extinction versus any other animal?

Different situations man.

You really cannot compare why the sabre tooth or mammoth or anything else went extinct with Sheep.

Besides, Sheep have been impossible to go extinct for the past 10,000 years or so because humans have been keeping and breeding them.

What I was getting at is that there are lots of animals that aren't ferocious that are alive. It just works out that way.

I can't prove conclusively that he exists any more than you can prove he does not exist. The reasons or evidence I would and/or could give can be debated to death especially if someone has decided that they are not going to believe.

A former atheist, Marilyn Adamson, put it this way:

"If a person opposes even the possibility of there being a God, then any evidence can be rationalized or explained away. It is like if someone refuses to believe that people have walked on the moon, then no amount of information is going to change their thinking. Photographs of astronauts walking on the moon, interviews with the astronauts, moon rocks...all the evidence would be worthless, because the person has already concluded that people cannot go to the moon."

I’m going to provide a link to her answering the question you asked me.

http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html

You can choose to believe or not believe that is your right just as it is mine to believe. I am not in the business to “force” someone to believe the same as I do. I respect one’s right to believe what they want but I expect that same respect in return.

The Great Commission
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) states:

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

This is commonly know as the "Great Commission." Jesus commands His disciples (and all of us Christians today) to go to all corners of the world (including the corners of our own neighborhoods, counties/parishes, states) spreading His love and God's word. He promises He will be with us if we do this.

Some people even believe that there is a promise in the last verse that once the whole world hears the message, then Jesus will come back, ending this age."

Hope that helps you.

I'm not one to mock people for their faith and don't like people making fun or belittling my beliefs.

That doesn't mean that religious/spiritual beliefs cannot be questioned or scrutinized however.

Absolutely, question, scrutinze and I would even suggest to set out and disprove God and his existence...C.S. Lewis did that.

I agree with you. I have no trouble with people questioning. I just can't stand when people mock or belittle and then trash those who are religious (no matter what the religion) for believing.

I suppose I should end on that note for tonight. I have a nasty headache and 3 sick little ones in the house. I guess I should sleep while I still have the opportunity.

I have a hard time with people that always quote bits and pieces from the bible as if they were there when these comments were spoken. My big question is about proof and I have yet to be shown proof that anything in the bible is real and that it is not just some bestseller book that was written thousands of years ago by some cult leader. You can not even tell me when jesus was born because it is claimed that god did not want to provide that information to the public and you are told he was born from a virgin because he said he was.The only claim to jesus being the son of god was him telling everyone that, so where is the proof? I would like to see someone tell that story today and claim their mother was a virgin and he is the son of god.He would be locked in an institution for a very long time.

No pictures = No proof

I would say Modest Mouse (who I enjoy, actually) oversimplifies.

If someone has the power to do something, it doesn't necessitate that he/she/it wields it constantly. A control freak seizes power whenever possible, while God allows his creation to play itself out for the most part, I think. I would hardly call that a control freak.
