But what is the advantage? I have apps on my phone, and any program I could ever imagine I can get for my laptop.

It's also half as useless. It's not meant to be a computer replacement

But they make up for it by being nearly twice the price!

LOL, anyone want to take bets that the biggest consumer segment of tablets is people living paycheck-to-paycheck?

Yeah, but it isn't running at twice the resolution. It only has about 8000 more pixels.

You're 8000 pixels.

This is something I'll never understand. Assuming your wife bought the iPad(1) on its release date, that means the product she has is roughly a year old. Is it really worth it to go buy a product which essentially is the same thing + a shitty camera? And people wonder why this country is in such massive debt, always have to have the newest greatest product and can't be happy with what they have.

Not to mention, I'm guessing 99% of the people standing in line waiting for the IPad won't be turning in a half day's vacation.

You do realize that people going out and buying the newer gadgets all the time is what we need/want to stimulate the economy, right?

I'm not even going to try and explain to you why this is incorrect. Stick to comedy and leave things that actually matter to those who know what they are talking about.

Sorry to offend you. It's been pumped in my head how important consumer faith is and how we (as consumers) need to spend money. Maybe I shouldn't have taken that economics class taught by W. and Obama.

Probably should. But as long as people are going to pay me, I'm going to keep doing it.

You're assuming a lot so why not assume that it was the plan all along for her to pass on the first one to him once the second one came out?

Assumptions are part of life. Even if it isn't the case in this particular example, my point still stands.

Wouldn't it have been smarter and less costly to wait and buy the first one now since the price has dropped with the release of the ipad2 ?

What? People buy crap they don't need and then QQ about things like gas being so expensive while they drive their 2011 Ford F150. Like I said, stick to comedy.

No. Because the iPad 2 is cooler and she can go post on Facebook about how cool she is because she owns one. You know you're life is boring when buying an oversized iPod is worth 3 hours of your life standing in a line.

Possibly, if you assume Steel Valley and his wife couldn't afford to do it this way. Having me Steel Valley I'd say that is an incorrect assumption. She also would've lost a years worth of using the original iPad for a savings of about $150. And then wouldn't it be smarter to wait until ipad 3 comes out to buy 2 ipad 2's? And then wouldn't it be smarter to wait until ipad 4 comes out...
