Here in little ol Jackson Ohio we are about 35 miles from West Virginia and 45 miles from Kentucky. We have the traditional WalMart, fast food galore mixed in with a Bob Evans, Ponderosa and a Dakota's Roadhouse.

Big News in the small town....many of us have seen the Long Johns/KFC or Taco Bell and something....but we are officially getting a combination restaraunt.......we have a large empty restarant that has a main floor and a large basement floor with a bar.......well in the not too far future it will be a LaRosa's Pizza on the top floor and a BW3's on the bottom floor. It may not sound like crap to those of you who live in populated areas....but this is huge in a small town! A hell of a combination IMO!

I know what you mean, I lived in Oak Harbor till 94. They got a McDonald's in 95. Untill then the only known chain fast food was a Subway I think that went in like 1990. I think they have expanded to a Pizza Hut too now.

I grew up in a small town. We had an elementary school, two small churches, a volunteer fire station and a mom and pop grocery store that shut down many years ago. What is this fast food you speak of?

+1. The town im from has a k-12 school. used to have 1 privately owned gas station (out of business now), a convenient store, and 0 stop lights. We do have a town diner, though.

I didn't pay attention when I looked it up. I was looking at the population of the county, not just the town.

What it have for our population? We are a city that has only one high school and it is an average to small D2 school in the non-football sports.....bounce between D2 and D3 in football.

Well, I believe Logan vs Jackson is in Chieftain Stadium this year, so I guess I'll just have to wait until 2012 to accept your challenge! :p

I do enjoy small town life though. We've got a McD's, Subway, and Arby's. Couple small diners, and like 3 gas stations. The one major plant that was here left a couple years ago, so we do have one giant vacant building as well! Hell, our high school doesn't even have it's own football field, lol.

Listed the population for the county as just above 33,000. I'm from Caldwell. In football they made division 5 by like 4 kids. Our football field is actually owned by the fairground committee or whatever it's called. High school rents it from them, I believe.
