Just a few thoughts I've gathered, mainly through John Fay tweets.

Sappelt is raking, but may not be ready in other aspects of the game. Willis is looking real good to make the club. Hamilton is a year or two away from being the everyday shortstop. Mesoraco is doing well. This organization has a TON of talent.

Who is the Sappelt guy? I've never heard of him before spring training.

2008 draft pick that shot through the minor league system last year. Started in Single-A and finished in Louisville. Hit .340+ between the 3, and .320+ at Louisville.

Sappelt 2-3 with a SB. Giving Grandal a 40man spot might be the deal breaker for Sappelt not making the club out of spring training.

Sappelt is a nice story, but where is he going to play? I guess he could take Fred Lewis' spot on the team? Everything I have heard suggests that he will be in Louisville at the start of the season

Watching the game on fsn right now. The announcers are driving me crazy. They aren't talking about the game much. Several times they have missed telling who is hitting which is frustrating considering half the guys don't have names on their unis. They also aren't providing spring training stats prior to ABs.

he would play left field. fill it at center against some tough RHP and be a pinch runner and/or defensive sub when gomes starts.

yeah you have to really pay attention or it's tough. i know most of these guys by looks but my wife doesn't and she drives me crazy with the questions. you pretty much have to watch from the very beginning, especially when it's a split squad like today.

stubbs looked like shit again. saw him K with 1 out and runners on the corners then he failed at bunting and K'd again with runners on first and second with no outs. sappelt 1-2 with a walk.
