Elias Harris scored 17 points as Gonzaga won at least a share of its 11th consecutive West Coast Conference regular-season title with a 68-31 win over San Diego Saturday night.

Gonzaga (21-9, 11-3) came into the game tied with Saint Mary's for the conference lead. The Gaels host Portland on Saturday night.

The title puts the Bulldogs second on the NCAA's all-time list behind UCLA, which captured 13 straight Pac-8 or Pac-10 championships (1967-79).

Gonzaga scored 17 unanswered points to take a 17-2 lead with 10:40 left in the half. San Diego (6-23, 2-12), which scored 31 seconds into the game, missed nine straight shots in the run.

Harris scored 15 in the first half as the Bulldogs led 37-19 at halftime. They shot 52.2 percent from the field in the first half and didn't score a basket outside the paint until Marquise Carter's 3-pointer at the 3:19 mark.

You hear a lot about Gonzaga's amazing conference run over the last decade, but you rarely hear about KU's current run. They have won six straight Big 12 regular season championships and are right in the hunt this year for #7. Obviously 11 is more impressive than 7, but winning 7 in a row in a major conference is more impressive imo.

Or maybe it shows how mediocre the Big 12 is.

Obviously I am kidding.

I mean in a way you are right, the Big 12 has not been great over this run. Hell some seasons the Big 12 has been downright bad. But you could probably say that about the Big Ten, ACC, and Pac-10 and there hasn't been a team in those conferences win 7 in a row. You would think with names like Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, etc. in the Big 12 the last 7 seasons, one of those guys could have led their team to a conference regular season title lol
