You can't be upset with this season though. In a time where the MAC seems to be stepping up, they got twice the number of wins they had in 2008.

I am happy with the season, just frustrated with their preformance in the game tonight.

Scott is in a lot of pain, but is playing through it.

Nice pass by Scott, but I think he is done for the night.
He has been on the ground trying to get rid of cramps for the last 2 plays.
He is now walking off with the trainers.

Didn't know that.
I just assumed that Scott had taken the job away from Jackson.

So the refs called a holding penalty, "Holding, #5? on the offense, 10 yard penalty...." and somehow it was 4th and 5. They either accepted the penalty or declined it, there is no middle ground.

MAC officials, on the chart only behind high school junior varsity officials in their stupidity.

Likely destinations:

CMU: GMAC Bowl in Mobile, AL
Ohio: Little Caesars Pizza (formerly the Motor City) Bowl back in Detroit.
Temple: International Bowl in Toronto
NIU: SOme other arbitrary open spot where a MAC school can squeeze in (EagleBank?)

It's a shame the MAC had to sell out and move the championship to ford field. The crowds are a joke plus the loser has to go right back there for their bowl. It was so much better on campus.

either Wikipedia's claim that the Little Caesars Bowl gets the first selection is wrong, or the Little Caesars Bowl is for whatever reason taking Ohio over CMU with the first selection

OU's defense really stepped up the second half, but the offense looked impotent.

the GMAC has always had the first pick, and i believe it pays more than the motor city (little ceasars).

Theo Scott looked like a much different QB tonight than the one who beat Temple. I know he was dinged up a little but he was missing some easy passes (for D1 QB anyways). Tettleton might be good eventually but when he completes less than 43% of his passes, there's a chance he is slightly overwhelmed

Ohio got really banged up last week and it showed. I don't know that they've have beaten CMU anyway, but I would have loved to see guys like Scott and Brazill at 100 percent. CMU definitely played conservatively on offense in the second half, but their defense never lost a step. They're an excellent team and there's no shame in losing to them.

With that said, that was a dirty play by that back-up receiver on #4. Absolutely pathetic move by that little bitch and the refs didn't even call anything. I hope the Chips feel good about how a cheap shot played a role in their victory.

not always:

years that the MAC champion has gone to the Motor City Bowl:

1997 Marshall
1998 Marshall
1999 Marshall
2000 Marshall
2001 Toledo
2004 Toledo
2005 Akron
2006 Central Michigan
2007 Central Michigan

Years that the MAC champion has gone to the GMAC Bowl:

2002 Marshall
2003 Miami

Years that the MAC champion has gone to the International Bowl:

2008 Buffalo

also, all 3 of those Bowls currently pay $750,000

It switches back and forth between who gets the first pick.

why are you showing stuff from the 90s? the gmac bowl has only been a MAC bowl since 2001. they don't have to select the MAC champion. In 2001 they took Marshall because they travel better, in 2005 they took Toledo cause they were a better team even though they weren't in the MAC championship. In 2006 the motor city bowl worked out some sort of agreement with the gmac bowl that they could take CMU because they needed the attendance boost. i know the gmac bowl used to pay more than the motor city bowl, maybe now since they are equal they rotate first pick.

The GMAC bowl is still a "MAC Bowl" due to affiliation, but as you mention the first bowl pick (this year, GMAC) is not obligated to pick the MAC champ (see: Buffalo getting shipped to Toronto last year)

By winning tonight, CMU simply guaranteed that SOMEONE out of the MAC affiliations (GMAC, Pizza Pizza, and International) will take them. Since GMAC has first pick this year and LeFevour is a beast, CMU will go to Mobile. Pizza Pizza will take the runner up (Ohio) next more than likely. International will probably take Temple over NIU, hoping that Temple will ship more fans.

yeah i didn't word that right, edited it.

CMU will have a blast down there, they really treat the players/fans well in mobile. The MAC used to dominate but lately they have been embarrassed.
