Just because my idea of camping is a Hilton, does not mean I don't like camping

I've never really camped, it's not something we ever did when I was growing up. I think I've camped once in my life, I'm not against it though.

I stayed at a Dreams in Puerta Vallarta 2 years ago and loved it as well. Looks like that what we are leaning towards is the Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana, DR. The price is better.

Started planning a week and a half vacation to Seattle/Vancouver last week for mid-June. Will be in Seattle for two nights, camp at Mount Rainier for two nights, Vancouver for three nights, then back to Seattle. I can't wait!

Actually thinking about the other Dreams resort in Punta Cana for the honeymoon this summer. What made you pick the Palm Springs resort over the other?

I'm actually having a really tough time finding a place that is reasonable and somewhere we haven't been to before. We've been to Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

Vancouver is flipping awesome - it is so much better than Seattle (unless you have front row seats for the Mariners).

No long vacations for us - some long weekends in Dubai and Barcelona after work, but it sucks when your vacation travel is longer than the vacation.

I think its coming down to price. A couple that is joining us want to keep at as close to 2000 - 2500 as possible. The last two years we did Dreams Puerta Vallarta and last year Aventura Spa Palace Riveria Maya which I wanted to go back too however that will put us over 3000 grand and that isn't doable for some that are coming with.

I'd pick the Dominican republic. Since staying all inclusive you really wouldn't venture out, but I think the DR is a cooler place. When I flew into the DR the people clapped when it landed, it was weird. I have never been to Punta Cana though, we stayed in Monte Cristi.

As for my vacation this year, I took 2 weeks off at the beginning of August, wanted to go to Europe again but the plane tickets are expensive. Most likely will go on a cruise, or maybe fly out West. Who knows.

No big vacation this year due to some temporary family medical issues and a messy project at work that effectively screws over the possibility of taking off more than a day or two at a time into midsummer. I'll take Lady D'Friskies with me on a couple of business trips and make a long weekend out of them.

Looking at cruises next summer - we'd like to try Alaska, but we're worried about winding up on a boat full of cranky 70-somethings. :/ Anyone ever been on one that's a bit more youth-oriented?

Went to Daytona Speedweeks and The 500. Going to Bike Week next payday. Then Spring Break on a kayak.

Got stuck in all that traffic this weekend on the way to/from the Wrestling State Championships in Lakeland. It was terrible on 95 and I4! Next year will be even worse...State Wrestling Championships in Lakeland, Daytona 500, and NBA Allstar game in Orlando.

200,000 is a big crowd. You should have taken 19 from Palatka. The 500 is moving back a week next year, end of Feb.

Well that will help it then. Yeah I wasn't driving and for some reason when we left Lakeland Sunday morning we once again forgot about the 500 untill we got to Orlando.

The wife and I are looking to go to Fort Lauderdale for a week this summer with my buddy and his girlfriend. We've never been, so it should be fun. Anyone know where I can get some good deals on condo rentals down in that area?

I also want to go on a cruise at some point this summer.
Here is some good cruise ideas for you.

2300-2600 for an all inclusive for 2 people or is that per person? Is that with flight included? The girlfriend and I are headed to Puerto Rico and all the all-inclusives there seemed to be close to 2 g's per person with the flight factored in.

Have heard good things about DR. We are planning on going next spring. Here is the resort we are looking at. If you go to DR let us know what you thought of it.

Thinking about doing a Euro cruise, anyone ever been?

I also quoted 8 nights at the dreams in DR for 3600 for the honeymoon suite for 8 nights with flight out of Ohio. That seems like a good deal to me.

That is for two people total. Flight, room, drinks, food, transportation all covered.

Ocean Isle Beach NC in June. It is a horrible, dirty, crowded place so nobody else should ever go there.
