I've got a lot of pet peeves but I think this is my biggest one. I didn't realize how much I hated this until we rearranged our desks at work and I am now next to the loudest eater on the goddamn planet. To make it worse she eats about 6-10 times per day. She can't take one friggin' bite without scraping her fork or spoon with her teeth and is always eating crunchy stuff. She'll down a bag of baby carrots and a whole tub of hummus in one sitting. She'll fill a bowl full of croutons and crunch those fuckers for an hour.

I'm with you. It absolutely drives me crazy, and along the same lines, someone who chews gum with their mouth open. It really bothers me. Last time I flew I was on a plane next to someone who chewed their gum loudly the entire flight. About half way through the flight I asked her kindly chew with her mouth shut.

She was very respectful about it and apologized and we got a laugh out of it, but you never know how someone will respond to a request like that.

She was eating a bowl of something smelly, enjoying her fork with every bite. I think it was a salad with tuna on it.

She's not. I don't get it. She is seriously eating 4 hours out of the day.

Yeah. I mean I'll hit my teeth with a utensil every now and then but it's every damn bite with her. Her teeth have to be worn down because of it.

I had a female co-worker who would get verbal everyday with lunch. Peanut butter sandwhiches, leftovers from last night.... it was always; mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, soooooooo good, ooooohhhhhhh this is the best. I had to stop eating in the office and find another place to eat. I could have punched her but I like my job and I need to money to pay for bills and save for my daughter's college tuition.

I have earbuds that I usually put in while she eats but I left them at home this weekend.

My wife will get a little loud with her eating every once in a while. I'll immediately start mocking her by exaggerating how loud she is eating. She quiets down after that. :)

I have the same exact same problem. She doesn't do it all time time. But everyone once in awhile I'll hear here and I just do it right back but way louder.

I could not agree more. If I catch myself eating loud y accident it annoys ME!

I love my brother in law like he was my own brother, but on our summer trip to Maine with my wifes family I wanted to throw him into a wall 3 or 4 times. He is a Chef of all things, and he eats so loud that once I got up to use the bathroom and on my way back I could hear him eating.

When my wife and I eat dinner at night I have to have the TV or a radio or something on. She isn't even a loud eater but just those sounds turn my stomach.

I'm glad that I am not alone out there, and to anyone reading this going... "Boy those folks are stupid", YOU are probably the LOUD EATER!

Dude, cut her some slack. It's a good thing if she's a little loud while eating that. :p
