Agree -- gotta give Columbus East their props for running a smooth tournament. PA system... might as well not bother. Parking... tiny lot, lots of on street, lots of police presence... wasn't a problem. Four mats barely fit with not enough bleachers pulled out for comfortable seating. Hard to navigate in and out of crowded bleachers. We could see three of the four scoreboards although we were using our camera zooms to read the score on one of those three mats. Also, we sat in front of mat one and really could not see the action on mat four because of the number of coaches, trainers, etc seated in the middle. You had to move to see that mat.
The programs are beautiful. They started on time. The action was constant -- no delays. Plenty of food at the concession stand although they should have been prepared for the early rush. So far, an impressively organized tournament with a sufficient, but not great, wrestling venue.

A different take on the concessions....later on most of our fans gave up. Said the line was a mile long and there was only 1 lady working the counter. I don't know if all the helpers ran off or what....

Canal Winchester with 4 in the semis... Presley with a win over Eckroft. Tried to tell you. May want to change some of those predictions.

Great job by Presley. I did NOT see that at all.
Not the only one I got wrong.....
Long day ahead on Saturday. I am sure there will be more that don't go the way of my picks.
Good luck to your Canal guys in the semi's . Hope to see as many as possible wrestling next week.

Hutchens will not need help to make it out of this district. You do know Thompson finished merely 7th at Elgin right?
Good call on Huthens!!
Throttled Sherer and in the finals

Overall, the tourney ran pretty well as stated before. Olentangy getting 7 through, although not surprising, is extremely impressive. Hilliard Bradley and Canal both had great tournaments. The whole district will not be sad to see Bradley make the jump to D1, they will be scary good next year.
What a run from Pressley!!! Also, props to Dalton Tullius fior wrestling through a MAJOR injury from just a few weeks ago and becoming a district placer.
To my boy Tyler Schenz, great run buddy. You came close and wrestler your a$$ off all weekend (and year)! Congrats and use that as your motivation in the off season. Your coaches could not be more proud!
Wrestlers that looked poised to make a run at high placement: Burcher at 103, Langdon and Miller at 112, Fiorucci at 119, McComas,Hutchins and Thompson at 125 could all 3 see the podium, Boswell at 130, Fosco at 135, Warner at 140, Stitzlein at 145, Higgins and Hetterscheit at 152, Baker at 160, King and Kullman at 171, Blankenhip and Johnson at 189, Jackson at 215, Pressley/Settles/WIllis/Young.....all of these guys will be on the podium come next week. 4 at heavy may be a stretch but they all have the ability to do it, tough weight!!!

Was that 285 weight class loaded or what? Coach you are right about Pressley....what a tourney. From the quarters on he takes out Eckroth, Settles, and Willis in succession. Eckroth....a 2X state placer doesn't even make it out!! Props to all the Central District big boys.......

Pressley seems to have a style that frustrates Stettles and beat him handes down.. great ovation for him afer the match! Love to see the team embrace him after the tough weeks he has had!

Congratulations Andrew Higgins on another District Title. You Better Place high this year. Congrats to Fiorucci, Baswell, Fosco, Baker, King, Jackson, and Pressley on thier OUTSTANDING Tournaments. You all wrestled your butts. Good luck to all the central Ohio wrestlers at state this weekend.

Don't worry he had a bad tourney and was the first to admit it he will show up next weekend.

well even though he placed 3rd in Columbus he wrestled "tough" all the way through! At least Baked and Gadd didnt have "losing records". they were all pretty much on the same page. Friday night was not too much work and The Baker match was worth the price of addmission! I think Boyce actually worked harder in that match than opponent. Baker just hung on most of the match, "stalling" and somehow came out on top! Boyce was the better wrestler there.

Take it easy there pumpkin...
I posted my comment after the semis and before the finals.
I am admitting my mistake about the Sherer prediction.
With a good draw Hutchens should do very well and most likely the draw won't matter a bit.
