In the past, people just disregarded the play-in game as nobody was going to pick the 16 seed anyways. But the new play-in games will have implications as these teams will have the opportunity to win a game or 2 in the Big Dance. So will you wait for the play in games to be completed to set your bracket? If you do, you have very little time to collect from the completion of the games Wednesday til Noon on Thursday to get your brackets collected. If you need to pick the play in games, you will need to have all brackets collected on Tuesday night, which will reduce the amount of people you can get in your pool. So for those who run office pools, what are you going to do?

I would assume that you have to pick those games now. No real good way to do it. The only way that could have helped was pushing everything back a week.

I do each round with a correct team in a point. Now I just have 34 possible pts as opposed to 32 in the first round (I wont make you pick the 16 seeds still). It wont change much. I MAY allow people to just pick that play-in game and then wait to pick again. Havent decided on that yet.

Yes, you will basically add them as another first round game. So basically, points will now be awarded with 34 points possible in round 1 with the normal 32 Thursday and Friday games and 2 additional games on Tuesday with the 5/12 and 6/11 games. There will still be two play-in placeholders who don't get counted...

There are 2 games Tuesday and Wednesday. Not sure if all 4 are in Dayton or not.

The reason I ask is not for how the scoring will work, but more for collecting the brackets if you run the pool. My buddy runs one of the biggest pools I've heard of. Last year he had 228 brackets @ $10 a sheet. He starts collecting Sunday night and doesn't stop until Thursday at noon. Making the brackets due by Tuesday night will cut down on the amount he gets for sure. My idea was this, allow submissions until noon on Thursday, but you can't get points for the 2 play-in games that matter. The 16 seeds play-ins are irrevelant. So bonus if you can turn in early, because you have 2 possible points, but you can still turn in by gametime Thursday and just miss out on 2 points.
