My B, ignorant comment by me, didn't know it meant anything. Stu was actually really good last night with SVP, one of the best sportscenters in awhile.

Several people today have told me that SportsCenter was really good last night. I wish I would have watched it, but couldn't bring myself to do so.

Absolutely loved watching this live. Harold did give it away by making the noises as they went to the Longoria replay.

EDIT: Not sure what I did wrong but here is the link to Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac's reaction of the ending of the Orioles/Sox game and then Longoria's walk off.

If it was a normal dude, Id say its fine. We all thought it, I would think it at that point etc. But when you right a book about the Curse of the Bambino....you cant be a dunce like this. What would his response be if the other person had said, "You idiot, knock on some wood, you just jinxed it."?

Yeah that's the last person I would expect to hear say "this is over"

Did you not notice the part where I said the Rays have taken advantage of that time frame? Just like the A's did in the early 2000's. SMH, nice fail. Also glad to see you used a typical jordo tactic by mentioning another league, which is completely irrelevant to how the MLB operates. There is no comparison.
The 2011 Rays look nothing like the team that made the 2008 World Series, which defeats your whole "open window" argument

It must not have been the right book for him to write then ;).

But that is pretty funny the dude wrote a book about the curse then said that.

Tito will likely be gone from Boston by end of day; he could be headed to Chicago: http://www.boston.com/sports/blogs/thebuzz/2011/09/terry_francona.html?p1=News_links

That's dumb on the red sox imo, but I don't care, hopefully their next move makes them suffer.

A day after Fredi Gonalez said the entire staff would be back next year, Frank Wren fired hitting coach Larry Parrish. Apparently Wren asked Parrish some questions about what he would do to fix the horrible offense and Parrish couldn't give him an answer. Deuces. Also, Wren said Lowe won't be in the rotation next year and will look to trade him. If he can't do that, he will rot in the bullpen.

LOL. Do you look under your bed at night for snakes? Blaming this shlt on a homer writer who was rooting for his team borders on lunacy. Get your meds adjusted.

Go Tigers!!!. They have the best team in the American League and their GM is a genius. The tribe traded away their top 2 pitching prospects for a scab...with a 2.9 million dollar paycheck and his 5.2 ERA. In the meantime, the Tigers grab off a brutal stud from Seattle for 400K a year.

Go Victor...and go Moonpie. Congrats to the Tigers for a great reg season...and this tribe fan is pulling for you to bring home the bacon.

I didn't know he was in an option year. Didn't think he'd get canned, but not surprised at all that his option wasn't picked up.

He's a damn good manager though. I really hope he doesn't end up in Chicago.

a) I'm not blaming him...just saying it's probably best to NOT say that.

b) He wasn't "Rooting them on" he simply said "this one is over"

c) Do I look under my bed at night for snakes? Lol the fuck does that even mean? I could maybe understand if you said monsters..because monsters and curses are technically not real. But snakes? lmao

Nope not done because you've been proven to be wrong and you don't have a counterargument. The Rays have made the playoffs 3 out 4 years and this team is completely different than the 2008 team. This isn't about luck at all. The small window argument would assume that once key players leave, the team sucks again. Not the case here

You are basically saying that the Rays are not like the Marlins.

On declining the option on Francona from the Red Sox principal owner...
Tito said that after eight years here he was frustrated by his difficulty making an impact with the players, that a different voice was needed, and that it was time for him to move on.
...and so it is with all managers, even damn good ones. After a while you just get stale. Players tune you out. Francona's case is hardly rare. (see Joe Torre, Eric Wedge, and even Ozzie Guillen.
Speaking of Torre...mentioned as a candidate for the now open BoSox job.
