What she does and how she does it I have no issue with, but let's be honest, I'm going to be drawing the line on the whole role model thing. Like anything else there are good things to be taken from her "message", stay focused on those and most don't have issue, start espousing illegal activity as role model worthy and things head south in a hurry.

Yeah, that whole role model stuff doesn't fly when she herself said she smokes an illegal substance to inspire her. The first thing I thought was how many young kids are going to try it now because it seems to works for her.

She owned up to it. Her rational was why lie about it?
Also, why should we take musicians and sport figures as role models? Don't we all remember the Charles Barkley ad saying specifically he (and other celebs) were not role models?
She can do whatever she feels like it really, I don't care.

I don't care if she wants to rip off Madonna but give credit where credit is due. Her new song sounds EXACTLY like Express Yourself but she has made no mention of it. She actually brought up Whitney Houston during her Grammy acceptance speech and to me it was like she was trying to shift the focus from what everyone was saying. She just seems hypocritical to me because she says she is an original, does not copy anyone, etc. and clearly she does. Just be honest. Say you were inspired by Madonna in this song (and with some of your outfits, hair styles, etc.) and be done with it.

Like it or not a lot of kids do take them as role models.
Just because she owns up to her drug use doesn't make it any more acceptable.

I am not a fan of her regular music or theatrical. However, if you have ever heard her sing some her songs with just a piano like on YouTube you would see she is VERY talented.

If your kids are looking up to a celebrity as being their role model then you fail as a parent.

Because all kids come from good homes. Yeah there are a lot people out there who fail as parents, I get it. So where do you think those kids are looking for role models/people who have an influence over them?

She didn't say any where in the interview that she used it for medicinal purposes.

Hopefully not someone that they see on TV there are countless people that they can look up to as role models if they have bad parents.
