Not having Michigan State in the NCAA tournament this year.

Does anyone know when the last time they missed? I probably wasn't even alive back then.

Im not writing them out of the NCAA tourney just yet. Although it seemed like they quit vs Iowa, I think they might get a few nice wins yet. They probably need to win the Big 10 tourney though to get to the dance.

They are going to have to either win out or only lose one more regular season game. I don't see that happening. I think the only chance they have is the Big Ten tournament.

That's correct. The last time MSU missed I was still making mandated contributions to SS and you weren't even a gleam in your daddy's eyes! :p

Truth be told, Izzo is probably relieved this nightmare is coming closer to the end. This has been a tempest of a season for his team and the fans of East Lansing -- from pre-season favorite by certain hoops authority's estimations to possible CBI team if the ship isn't promptly righted. Talk about being humbled. Sparty, if you're still frequenting these boards, ask hoops23 for some words of wisdom:)

Today's game was more about the efficiency of Wisconsin than the fall of MSU. MSU has been falling for the past few weeks, so they were not, IMO, expected to compete at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin looked as good as any team has looked this tear. Taylor was unbelievably good and Leuer was a match up nightmare. Wisconsin played a great game.

It really shows how tough the Big Ten is this year. Most of those guys were a minute away from playing for the national championship last year and now they are losing by 20+ at Iowa and by 30 at Wisconsin. Hell, MSU only lost by 5 at Duke and it took some questionable officiating for that to happen.
