I like Boston Lager, it is a beer that I usually get when I'm at a dive bar and they don't have any micros.

I'm just not a fan of summer ales overall. I feel most have too much lemon in them. Shame because I feel I'm cut off from a seasonal beer.

I've got no problem being called out and it was nice of you to call me an "experienced beer drinker" instead of a drunk...lol

Two more of their beers that stand out to me are the Black Lager and Winter Lager. (Cue the nice contradiction fail from CoA, since I've stated on several occasions that I'm an Ale guy)

Much like CoA, I'm not a fan of Summer Ales either in general. However for some weird reason I do like the Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. The excess of lemon makes it for me. Of course a Shandy is supposed to have that excess citrus flavor as by tradition it's usually 50/50 beer and the mixed beverage of choice.

Just a side note, The Wife likes the Sam Adams Summer Ale the most out of their beers.

lol no I wouldnt do that when discussing beers. Lot of my friends love the Summer Shandy, I think it tastes like a super sugary lemonade. Its right up there with the Wild Blue Blueberry beer as one of my least favorite beers I've ever had. Beers with lemon and me just don't get along.

We just tried that this weekend. I thought it tasted too much like wine, like a hybrid between the both. I don't want to taste wine while drinking beer. It was OK, just below average. I understand what you are saying about the sweetness, but I have had much worse.</SPAN>

Summer ales aren't my favorite beers but I will drink them. The Shandy I had the first I tried it didn't taste much like wine or have a sugary taste but it could have been old. The same goes for Wild Blue. I think it's alright but it's not my first pick if I am going to drink.

I keep seeing commercials for black lager. I'm intrigued by it and plan on checking out next time I drink.

Perhaps you've explained this before, but what are these rankings?

Just a 1-10 rating for a friend and I, but we have never gone above 14.0 out of 20.0 for a beer yet.

Ahh I see. Suprised by your Wild Blue ranking. I got a 6 pack to try it and couldnt even finish one. I'd rather drink a warm skunked Beast Ice/Natty Light/Keystone and wash it down with a hot maddog 20/20 than that ever again.

Rarely do I get a six to try, been getting singles at Anderson and Bassetts. I have had worse than Wild Berry, Lion Lager from SriLanka comes to mind.

Just saw a commercial for Guiness Black Lager that is available on the 14th.

I'm going to have to pick up a sixer to give that a shot.

Go in with the realization that it is a macro type lager (Bud, Miller, etc) and you should be pleased. If you go in trying to compare it to micro brews you'll be disappointed.

Had one over the weekend. It tasted like a light beer and nothing like a guiness. It was decent for what it was. Probably wouldn't buy a 6 pack.

The commercial said available October 14th. Maybe I'll have to head over to the store tomorrow and see if they have it.

Tasted like a light beer? I mean, I figured it wouldn't taste too much like a Guinness since this is a lager and Guinness is a stout. But I was hoping it would have more flavor than just a light beer.

Guinness has never been very heavy on the flavor. Always the problem I've had with any of their beers. Not enough flavor.
