Smuttynose Pumpkin tonight, I think it's fantastic. Lighter than say Pumking or Epic's but has nice flavor and drinkable as hell. And $8.49 is nice for a six pack.

Pretty tame weekend for me, although I did score a six of Rivertowns pumpkin ale. Good stuff killed 3 of them yesterday. Now I just need to get back down to Cincy so Curly and I can destroy a growler of it!!

I'm not a fan of Rivertown's Pumpkin. Don't think it matches very many of the other one's I've had.

I think it's solid. The only complain I have with it is the flavor fades pretty fast. It's solid up front but the end result is weak. Other than that I thought it was quite good.I Wear Pants;1494800 wrote:I'm not a fan of Rivertown's Pumpkin. Don't think it matches very many of the other one's I've had.

I guess I'll have to give it another try. I had it in between some Pumking and Smuttynose Pumpkin both of which are fantastic so perhaps I gave it an unfair taste.vdubb96;1494822 wrote:I think it's solid. Smuttynose surprises me since I haven't been a fan of their other stuff.

I have Southern Tier 2x Stout on Nitro draft last night...fucking delicious. Served too cold but great when it warms up.

Good point. I find this years to be more balanced though. Last years was too heavy on the spices. (Lots of cinnamon) Found this out by having some barrel aged Pumpkin at the brewery. Basically Rivertown uses an Amber Ale base for theirs. It's the same Amber Ale that they cask on occasions.

Drink it while you can, because once it's gone...it's gone.

Got my tasting group tonight, someone is bringing Firestone Walker PNC , an imperial Buckwheat stout aged in tequila barrels. Pretty psyched to give that one a try.

It was pretty damn good. Not something I'd be clamoring to get a bunch of, but it was pretty interesting to try a tequila barrel aged beer. Got a lot of spice on the chocolate flavor which I found to be unique. Solid 4~4.5/5O-Trap;1495587 wrote:That sounds fascinating! Let us know how it is!

Just came from the Jungle. They were out of Bombers of Warlock, but they had it on tap so I got a Growler of it. Did have a sample and it was soooo good. I'm going to keep it until tomorrow night then kill it !!! (I'm doing my Whiskey thing tonight after cigars)
