One thing I like about getting together with my in-laws is that my wife's brother always hooks me up with some Shorts. He lives just over the MI border and is getting new stuff all the time. Drank some Pink Skirt IPA yesterday and was amazing; might actually make a drive up there to grab more.

Now trying a Dead Guy Ale.

More fruity/nutty (something) than the Stone arrogant bastard.

Checked out the website and found this-

Summer comes but once a year, and when it does, we celebrate in the best way we know how. As much a part of summer as wakeboarding and disc golf, our summer seasonal Nicie Spicie makes its way back to shelves statewide this week! An original Joe Short recipe, Nicie Spicie is a Northern Michigan spiced wheat ale made with a 50/50 blend of malted barley and malted white wheat. Packed with fresh lemon and orange zest, then spiced with coriander and a three peppercorn blend, this light-bodied ale is complex yet scrumptious. Pouring a gorgeous golden color, Nicie Spicie is crisp, refreshing, and everything you could hope for in summertime brew.
At 4.5% ABV and 14 IBU, Nicie Spicie has got you covered for the long days spent soaking up some Vitamin D. In the case of both the Nicie and the sunshine, remember it’s important to enjoy responsibly. We’ve got a whole lot of summer ahead of us.

This sounds really good.

They make some awesome beers, everything I've had from them was great. Wish they distributed to Ohio, but I'm only about 25 min away from MI if I really wanted to get some.

Went to the 50West Brewery/Pub today. Shared 2 fights of six beers each. Well one was a double. The Stout was on nitro and the same Stout on cask. Great food too, within a great old building that has been updated yet throwback.

This should be a place for a Cincy Beer Snob get together. They even had a Radler, which is like a Shandy, that Terry Tate would enjoy. (2.9 ABV).

I'd gladly meet any of you Cincy folks there on a weekend as The Wife and I decided MUST go back.

When you need the "ice cold" beer experience, a Dale's Pale Ale does rather nicely.

I agree. I dig it "cold" which I can't say about too many beers.

Agreed. I drank it straight from the can right out of the fridge, which is unusual because most beers I at least pour into a glass, and most of the time let warm up for a little. But it hit the spot tonight.

Had a few beers from Deschutes Brewery for the first time. My favorites were there Black Butte Porter, one of the better Porters I have sampled, and the Red Chair Pale Ale. They classify it as a Northwest Pale Ale, very amber/copper in appearance, very solid beer. Would love to get a case of this stuff, you get the hoppy aroma like most NW beers, and the piny/citrus flavor, but not overly bitter. Really like this one, unfortunately I don't think Deschutes distributes to Ohio, at least I haven't seen them.

I read they and Great Lakes are doing a collaboration Imperial Smoked Porter to celebrate their 25th anniversary. I am stoked to try it.

edit: It's been released at the brewery, not sure if it's stiff available. Would love to get my hands on a bottle.

Lol. Love messing with you Buddy. Actually after our two flights (12 samples) the beer I chose to have was a pint of was The Radler. It was quite good. I think you'd enjoy it Terry.

I hadn't heard of a Radler before so The Wife googled it. Seems it is the same as a Shandy, just what they call it in Germany. One answer I loved. "One means to ruin beer. The other means to ruin lemonade."

I had the Sam Adams Porch Rocker the other night, another Radler. It was good, but not as good as the 50West. I actually liked the SA more than Leiny's Summer Shandy...now it's time for me to put on my Skirt.

Tasting group last night, had Bam Noire (Jolly Pumpkin beer) which was interesting but not world beating, Oak Aged Bretta (saison) from Logsdon which was pretty solid though I prefer the non oak aged version, and Unibroue's 17 which was pretty damn good. Haven't had a good Belgian Strong Dark Ale in a while and that was top notch.
