I can't disagree with that statement. Last time I had a Hudy Delight was back in the early 90's and it was BAAAAD. A local Cincinnatian is bringing back some of the old breweries that were here. Christian Morelein is back and has some decent beers. (OTR). He brought back the Hudepohl-Schoenling brewery and some of their beers. I've had their Little Kings since it was re-introduced and it wasn't too bad. In fact i bought a case of it. It was better that the last time I had one over 20 years ago. He also brought back Burger, which I've never had in my life, but had a die hard following years ago. While these are not elite beers, I'd try/drink them over some of the other massed produced swill.

It's considered a Cream Ale and it comes in 7 oz Bottles. I do believe they had 40 oz back in the day all the way up to 64 oz. I used to drink it quite a bit back in my High School days. I quit drinking it back in 1989 as it wasn't available where I was stationed. Plus a friend of mine called it 'butter beer' since he thought it tasted that way. The next one I tried did taste like butter, so he ruined it for me. A while back they were offering 'free' samples. (well they had to charge a dime due to dumb Ohio Laws). I tried it and it tasted completely different. It tasted so good I bought a case of it. Maybe under the new owner their going for more quality then the previous owners. Schoenling also used to make a beer called Top Hat. (I'm sure many old timers might remember that beer or are still trying to forget that beer)

Alright beer snobs help me out, I dislike stouts and IPAs and beer at room temperature, I am a fan of ales and lagers served refrigerated. Here is a list of my favorites. Any suggestions of something new to try?

Having a few Boulevard Wheats tonight. I like the taste, leaves a bit on the tounge but yet goes down smooth.

I love that beer and it's a darn good wheat beer. The first time I had it was in Kansas at my father-in-laws house, in 2004. When I got back I found out that they don't distribute to my area. Last time I had one was last Summer when we visited him.

I had some Sam Adams East West Kolsch last night. It really wasn't too bad, actually it might have been one of the nicer Kolschs I've had. (Better than Shiner's) I haven't had a lot of Kolschs as it's' Lagerish'. After that I grabbed a bottle on Tiny and shared it with the wife, along with a Pecan Roll. It was so damn good that we grabbed another bottle of Tiny and drank it at room temperature...then we went nite nite !!! Only one more bottle left so it looks like I'll have to see if the store has anymore.

I'm getting ready to head to Colorado on Friday. Looking forward to having some of the local beers out there. (again)

I had a local beer seller put some (Blvd & Yuengling for that matter) aside for me to buy non-refrigerated so I don't skunk it on my way back home.

Will be enjoying a few Hobgoblins this evening for Heat v Bulls.

I'll be enjoying a New Holland Dragon's Milk tonight, since the Acme near me just got it in again for the first time in six months.

Had a Blue Pants (local microbrewry in Alabama) Knickerbocker Red with dinner tonight. Red Amber Ale. Good beer, nice taste, I think I'll give it a 6.5.

Anyone know when GLBC Lake Erie Monster comes out? That stuff is unreal. On a side note, back to the original thread, I picked up some Big Flats 1901 from Walgreens last night. That stuff is a great binging beer

Yea man Lake Erie Monster is good prob my 2nd favorite of GLC. I've got some Grolsch and some Becks for a gathering tomorrow.

I picked up some Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster at Valley Wine Cellar on my way home today. Can't wait to try it. I also grabbed a 6 of Scrimshaw Pilsner, some Curveball Blonde Ale, Two Hearted Ale and a couple other singles.
