The problem with that is the Cavs are going to have to overspend on free agents to get them to come to Cleveland. Unless they are able to get a player through the draft who will be able to be the star/leader of the team from day 1, it isn't going to be a quick fix. The bad thing for the Cavs is there doesn't really seem to be that player in this year's draft or really next year's.

i meant soon as we get our own version of Kevin Durant in one of the upcoming drafts. Soon as we get a good core, free agents will come they just won't be huge free agents.

really dude? out of all that whole post, you cherry-pick that? that's a very frustrating posting style. obviously, we need about 3 or 4 years of solid drafting of top five picks to actually have a young core to build on and need to hit a homerun in atleast one of the them (definitely not guaranteed). okc is in about year five of their full rebuild and they are not there yet and they hit two homeruns with durant and westbrook. of course it is going to take time, i think all cavs fans know this but are prepared for it

Probably not, take a look at their schedule. They just played most of the playoff teams in January, the February schedule is pretty soft.wildcats20;658885 wrote:This streak is nuts...
I just have a feeling the streak breaker will come against one of the better teams in the League(LA, Boston, Miami, etc). I don't think it will be tonight though.

I kinda disagree with this. I think Kyrie Irving can be the next Chris Paul and a player to build a team around

I just think that people think it will take a couple years, but I think they are further away than that. It's just so easy to say they are a couple years away, without acknowledging how top heavy the NBA is. The Cavs were one of those elite teams. Could they make a playoff push in 3 years? Maybe. But to get back to that 60 win level, it will take time and a lot of luck. Oklahoma City got lucky with Durant. Those guys don't come around every year though.
As for free agency, they can get guys, but will have to overpay. I really think they would be smart to throw a ton of money at Greg Oden this offseason. Offer him a two year deal with a ton of money and a team option for a 3rd or 4th year. If he gets healthy, he's a guy that can really help turn around a franchise, and he has Ohio ties so he would be more willing than some to play in Cleveland. And if he sucks and can't get healthy, who gives a shit, you are back at where you started.

Why would the Cavs want to be back where they started in 2 years?

We're going to see about 3 years like this so we can get some quality guys in the top 3 picks in the draft....then hopefully we have a PG that is all-star worthy and a few more pieces.

I agree. Cavs are at least 5 years away
Only way that changes is if they get lucky in the draft. The east is very top heavy and its only gonna get worse with Melo in NY next year. With that said, I honestly think we only get a half a season of NBA basketball next year...if that. These CBA meetings arent going to be pretty, any owner outside of NY, LA, Miami etc.... is going to show up mad as hell.

Nowhere, but they'll have a lot more people in place in 2 years than they do now. "back at where you started" is right now...it doesn't get any worse than right now. In 2 years, they'll have most likely two top-5 picks and maybe a sleeper second rounder.

Cavs look a little rough so far, probably just toying with the Heat until the second half. Very similar to the Lakers game a few weeks back when they turned it on in the 5th half.

Heat have had roughly 24,000 more fans at home games this year. They have also had 2 more games. They are also one of the best teams in the league. Cavs are the worst.
