wow, bummer for hillsdale, miss the playoffs and get bumped out by a team you beat (and that you have a better record than). Another good season in jeromesville, though. Congrats to the smithies and cats and good luck to both next week.

Smithie fans, if you have any Bucyrus Wynford questions, your ol buddies in D-town have Bucyrus as their home away from home.

Everyone says teams like Hillsdale should "schedule up" to give themselves a better chance of making the plays offs, which is true. However there is no incentive for bigger schools to "schedule down", it is very much a Catch-22 for schools like Hillsdale.

It is sad about the way it turned out for the Falcons, but there are teams out there willing to play! Some that come to mind, Crestview, Black River, Manchester, Keystone, Wellington, Firelands, CVCA, The Hillsdale AD needs to start contacting schools now and get that non conference schedual beefed up.

You have to schedule a team that is good but also beatable at least 50/50 or there is only experience gained no points. DSJ last year was a close game that made more of a difference to our season then any other, but not having the points almost cost us last year too.
I hear all the time about our weak out of conference schedule, but really it is only the last few years that it has been one sided and a factor. Those teams where also the base that Coach Williams built this program on as far as instilling an attitude that Falcons can win games.
Most everyone thought that Bucyrus as step up over Lucas, this year it just was not.
I do not know who we will get week one, still hearing talk of Marion Pleasant.

Our AD is Coach Williams so he knows what is best for him more than anyone.

I dont doubt that Coach Williams knows what is good for his team, but some of the teams I listed are having good years and are "very" beatable.

I did not mean to come across like my post might have, sorry. We sent out dozens of letters of interest for a week one team. Week two we are locked for next year, it will be interesting to see what happens there if Bucyrus does not step it up some next year.

I was very impressed with the hillsdale football program last night... great spirit and just a class act program. Norwayne play calling did make me scratch my head a few times. Wallace must of drenched himself in crisco oil before the game, several times the falcons would have him wrapped up in the backfield and wallace would some how get out of it. The biggest play of the night to me was when hillsdale had wallace wrapped up in the backfield but he got out of it and ran about 15 yards for a first down with less then 2 minutes left in the game. If falcons would of got that sack then i think hillsdale would of won the game.

hillsdale doesn't need to schedule-up (a bigger school). They just need to schedule up to an average school in their own division, not a doormat in their own division. I do realize that historically, they were just looking for a win and it takes time to improve a schedule. That said - it's time.

I'm not in shock, I'm just watchin' the Buckeyes and waiting on the official word on who the WCAL teams are playing.

Orrville spanked Wooster tonight, so who does that leave Norwayne playing?

Is it Smithville at Wynford in the other WCAL team playoff game?

Good question.......why?

Isn't that something that Hillsdale doesn't make it at 9-1, Smithville does at 8-2. Norwayne drops to number 3 seed in the tourny.....Wooster actually had a chance to get in based on them winning tonight and a win by an out of conference team. But not to be. Here's a thought. I would love to see Wooster take on Norwayne, just for the hell of it.
