Smithville wins big
Norwayne lets the cheerleaders dress and they see action before halftime.
Hillsdale by 30-35 points. The Bears just don't have the O or D lines to compete with the Big 3 in the league. Upsets don't happen when you are outmanned on both lines. Wish it weren't so!
Dalton just because someone has to win. Game of the week though in the league since it is the only one that will last more than a quarter.

Dogs 24-13 over Rittman. Congrats on first win Pups! It was cool at the end of the game Moyer gave the game ball to Coach Doty. Way to go Dogs!

Obviously the screen was overused as well as that counter draw but it wasn't as predictable as I thought going though. Still very predictable though.

Finally!! Feels good to have a win! Consistent play tonight and only one turnover, another week of improvement. This speaks well for the Coaching staff and the kids! Teamwork works, as does loyalty.
Keep it up, Dawgs!

Smithville over Northwestern 56-39.

If the Smithie D plays like they did tonight in week 9, Norwayne WILL hang 100 on them.

soph Q B for NWN didnt look to bad toight against Smithville. The future looks a little brighter for the Huskies. Miyagi dont know how many yards passing he had , but it was a plenty. Nice way to bounce back from a broken collar bone ...... Miyagi agrees that Bobcats will hand 100 on the Smithies if they dont shore up that pass defense. Smithville though scored on every possession but 1 didnt they ? Kudos to the Smithie running attack......watching again on clear picture right now

Bears lose a heartbreaker 31-0. It was close....7-0 after the 1st....

I met up with a couple knuckleheads from hillsdale...bought me a powerade...and his buddy had his face painted up...looked like smurfette with the blue face...a lil yellow there for her hair.

Some dolt (one of the guys above) was ringing his 250lb Amish schoolhouse bell all night...lol

Bears have been outscore 119-0 in the last 3 games. Get to travel to Rogues Hollow to take on the Mighty Chipps next week.....Hope we can get 1.

Interesting games coming up with Norwayne and Smithville....and the finale with Norwayne and Hillsdale. At this point I have to think Norwayne runs the table...but Smithville and Hillsdale BOTH have the potential to put a knot on the cowbutt stalk!!!

Im waiting for some other "more knowledgable" fans to chime in.....

On a side note...I did take a few minutes to lean on the fence, as to keep up my reputation.

I had to laugh...a few "older" gentlemen sitting close to me were talking and I overheard some of the conversation:

man 1: What the hell happen to Waynedale football???

man 2: I dont know...i dont see it improving either....

man 1: Whatta ya think??? We need to bring Sedar back??

man 2: Sounds good...somethings gotta help!!!

DISCLAIMER: This was NOT my conversation...it was a few men in their upper 60's??? 70??? Also Sedar is VERY happy at Ashland Crestview and I dont see him coachingg again. Just got a kick outta the older fella's....

ALSO...Hillsdale has a darn fine band!!!! I let a few Falcon mothers sit in my reserved seats for the halftime show, so they had good seats to watch their band children perform!

Not even just the pass D. They covered poorly on the QB reach play that Northwestern ran. Also, there were a LOT of missed tackles by the Smithie D ... a LOT.

This cannot be the same defense that held Hillsdale to 7 points in a half. That was the most points this Northwestern offense has put up so far this year, and it's the most points scored on the Smithies this year.

Not saying they can't shore it up, but tonight's performance should worry a LOT of the Smithville faithful if they know anything about Norwayne's offense (which is exponentially better than Northwestern's ... no offense to the Huskies). If Northwestern can put up 40 points ... if they can narrow the final margin to almost 2 scores ... then Norwayne can do more.

And 400 yards or not, I don't see Smithville hanging 56 points on Norwayne.
1_beast;925691 wrote:Smithville and Hillsdale BOTH have the potential to put a knot on the cowbutt stalk!!!

Not sure that's true. Have to wait and see which Smithville team shows up.

The one that played tonight should be happy with a win, but should NOT be happy with it's defensive performance.

Back from the Cats game with an update. What can I say. The game went pretty much as expected. Norwayne wins 61 - 8 and it wasnt that close. Norwayne scored 61 in a little over 2 qtrs. They yanked the 1st string offense a couple series into the 3rd. They couldve scored on every possesion. Wallace shared the ball between 4 recievers. I dont think any of them had more than 3 catches but Berger, Maibach and Knieriem all had TD catches. I think he only had 1 incompletion. I may be wrong. If we would've kept throwing we could've scored 100 easily, We uped the rushing stats in the 3rd but Norwayne's offense is dangerous because of the passing game. I will say this though, Jon Zimmerly is a beast running the ball. give him 18 carries a game and he rushes for 1200 yards easily. Chippewa scored on a long run but Norwayne had 6 freshman in the game at the time. The guy who scored was one of Dtowns starting RB's. No disrespect but Dtown is terrible.

I can't believe that Northwestern put 39 on Smithville......wow
